Can anyone tell me what the best region is of this ?.
Dont spose theres a decent cheap R3 knocking about ?.
There is an HK version, but it's just as barebones as elsewhere, will cost you as much, if not more, and is difficult to find at the moment.
The R2 has no extra features, but a beautiful transfer.
The R1, which will be released in the next month or so, will have both P&S, and widescreen transfers, plus a trailer. I imagine the trailer will be the same old US rubbish - 'in a land of [insert cliché]'...
I'm not aware of any other versions.
So the R1 has the best features, but only just. Personally I'd say get the R2 - the transfer can't be beaten.
Lovely film, too. Should I admit that I usually cry at the end? :o No, probably not.
I cried at the end.

Yeah just get the R2 because I have the R3 and it cost me about £18 inc p+p from HK but its just the same as R2 which you can get for £15 from play247.
I've reviewed the R2 release of The Road Home (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=16&story=) for DVD Times.
The transfer is superb and the film is marvellous - I'd highly recommend going for the R2 version.
