There is a hidden bloopers reel in the R2 release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
Search for title 15 on your DVD remote. Its a 2 min film showing various out-takes!! Cool!!!
There are some other ones but not quite as exciting. Check out here (http://www.theforce.net/episode1/) for more info. The info refers to the R1 release so the instructions are slightly different. Just mess around a bit with the instructions they give.

And I presume you've also seen the 2 hidden short featurettes on the 2nd disc? ;)

Can someone please post all the hidden features and how to access them for the R2 please.
I was knocked back by the sheer amount of content on the 2nd disc, let alone the hidden stuff.

First disc:
Go to the languages menu. Using the remote press '1138'
(On some player models you will have to press '10+', '1' and wait for the pause as the player accepts the input. Then press '3' and wait for the pause. Finally, press '8'.)
This will take you to some bloopers from the movie, complete with DVD credits.
2nd disc
Go to the 'Deleted Scenes and Documentaries' menu screen. Once there, select 'Deleted Scenes Only' and on the page that says 'Complete Podrace Grid Sequence,' highlight the 'Doc Menu' and then press the 'Right' arrow key on your remote control to highlight a small button.
Now press 'Enter' and you’ll see a video clip on the making of the Podrace sequence.
In the same 'Deleted Scenes' menu, browse to the 'Extended Podrace Lap 2' page. Once again, highlight 'Doc Menu' and press the 'Right' arrow key to select the button.
This will give you access to a featurette covering the extended podrace sequence and elements that have been removed.
These are the ones I currently know of.:)
Also on the R1 there are 3 different main title screens and 3 different scene selection screens for disc 1 !!

Thanks dangermouse.
I can never understand the point in hidden features, why not just include them as part of the disc ?.
If anyone knows of a website that tells how to access hidden features on all the various dvds which have them, please post here.
Im sure I've got discs with hidden features on which I diddnt know about.
Go <a href="http://www.dvdreview.com/html/hidden_features.shtml">here</a> (R1)

I think Easter Eggs (hidden DVD features) are a cool idea. It just adds a little bit extra fun to the DVD experience and is especially neat when you discover them for the first time :)

It's actually the options menu, if this doesn't work and you can't be bothered hunting it out with the goto key or you don't have 10+ you can press:
11 then press enter/play
3 then enter/play again
8 and enter/play
The outtakes should then start immediately.

...is a good site for easter eggs, not only on DVD but software etc., and the Films section has a lot of trivia info in. DVD stuff mostly R1 if I remember correctly.
i'm still trying to find the hidden plot.

Hehe. After watching the docs and listening to the commentary, it sounds like Lucas doesn't have a clue what makes a film tick. Hard to believe given his track record!
However, full marks to him for making me buy the first DVD of a film I don't care for!

The odd thing is that many Star Wars fans I know still seem to credit Lucas with Empire Strikes Back + Jedi, despite the often forgotten fact that he didn't direct either!
I thought that Phantom Menace was no better two years on, but the DVD really is a truely impressive piece of work.

He didn't write the sceenplay for ESB either and only took 1/2 a credit for ROTJ.

Those "outtakes"are so fake and unfunny!Half of `em rip off the Bugs Life idea of animated outtakes..

It's a well known fact the amount of "hands on" input Lucas has into all his films. He checks EVERYTHING. During ESB he was hoping as a producer he could wander off and let the director take care of everything... in actual fact he ended up spending every single day on set making sure everything was the way he wanted it.

I just checked the out takes, damn some of them are funny.
Especially the constant clanging into and falling over R2D2, that must be something thats been a real pain for Lucas over the last 20 odd years.:D

I think some of that footage was used during the Star Wars exhibition earlier this year.
Anyone else besides me visit this? It was very good!!
