Please don't shout at me if this thread is in the wrong place, it's the best I could assume to place it.

Can anyone help me, I am thinking of buying the following camcorder:

http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/CatalogueItem_12509.html

However, I'm not sure about the pixel rating, it states it is 800,000? I have a digital camera that is 3.2 million pixels.

Surely for £800 the resolution would be better than 800,000 pixels or have I got completely the wrong end of the stick?

Thanks for any explanation that can be provided. :help:

you have the right end of the stick, IIRC its the fact that the technology is different between video & static camera's. You could try www.simplyDV.com for some decent explanations.

You'd think so. I know I can get a 1mega pixel camera for 450 quid. (Sony PC100 from tottenham court road).

But that's an old model. I would have thought a sony PC103 or 105 would be available sub 1 grand.

Amazon are very comptetitive for camcorders and the 105 is rated very highly within that segment of the market, and is more like £800 there.

How about the canon mvx10i for £839 from pixmania.co.uk. that has a 2.2MP resolution for stills. Gets good reviews.
