I know I sound stupid and feel free to delete once answered but if something is blacked out with spoiler but how do I read whats underneath?

Try clicking on the box 3 times.

you see?:D

Just highlight it like you would if copying/pasting something in word mate :)

i.e. hold down your left mouse button and move the cursor over the whole text.

Alternatively triple click on the whole 'blacked out' bit and the whole thing should appear
