Some actors immediately bring a certain role to mind..for me anyway. Some actors make a role there own so well its impossible to think of anybody else playing the part, while others simply never went on to bigger things.

George C Scott : George Patton, Patton
F. Murray Abraham: Antionio Salieri, Amadeus
Leonard Nimoy: Mr Spock, Star Trek (you could say that for all of the cast!)
Christopher Lloyd, Doc Brown, Back to the Future series (whenever he's in a film my fiancée says "Is that the bloke out of Back to the Future?")
Mark Hamill: Luke Skywalker, Star Wars Episodes 4-6
Christopher Reeve, Clark Kent/Superman, Superman series (you could say that for Lois Lane too)
