Peter Kay: Live at the top of the tower is due for Release on 19th November...anybody got any info on this?
I know the disk features an interview, alternate ending(?), outtakes and bonus unseen footage.
Going by it's title 'Live at the top of the tower' i presume it's a stand-up performance...but what's with the "alternate ending"????
Anybody shed some light on this?

Yes, it's a normal stand-up performance for the most part, but it does have some pretend "behind-the-scenes" type inserts at the beginning, intermission and end. They obviously filmed alternative versions of these clips and have generously decided to furnish the disc with them.
I've had the video version for quite a while now and wasn't sure about buying a bare-bones release just for marginal A/V improvements. Extra features like those you mentioned are exactly the kind of incentive I need to re-purchase it on DVD though.

Hi,
I saw this live in Blackpool.
Its a great show and the man is a comic genius.
Not filmed at the top of the tower though, more like in the bottom of the tower in the circus ring.
Then again thats not a catchy as a title now!

Just got this today but was sure I’d read the John Smiths ads were on it as well. Don’t see them listed as an extra. Anyone able to clarify? Are they an Easter egg or is there another version of this title with them on?
Thanks.
The original release didn't have the ads. The re-release does.
The cover art hasn't changed but there should be a sticker on the front indicated the ads inclusion on the new version. (there was on my copy)
Check on the menus before you panic though - maybe the sticker has come off.
Seen it and must have laughed about once. This guy is so over rated.

You must have a sense of humoue bypass not to at least find a few things funny. Went to see him last week in Newcastle and I laughed so much I couldn't laugh anymore.

My sense of humour is just fine thanks, just different from yours.

Well, I think he's funny. Not seen this yet but the Phoenix Nights dvd is one of my faves in my collection.
