....have any idea about the diffs between the R1 & R2 two disc sets?? Play247 list both, but R1 is cheaper and appears to have ludicrously more extras - so many more, in fact, that it seems too good to be true. What's the crack here, then? :confused:

They're the same except for packaging & PAL/NTSC issues.

The extras just aren't given enough detail on Play's site (for the R2)

Doesn't the R1 have the original mono soundtrack as well as the Dolby mix?

I think the R1 only comes as the 2 disc Platinum edition, whereas u can get 1 or 2 disc versions in R2 (i think!)

Maybe you were comparing the R1 to the basic R2?

I've got the R1 version myself and it's well worth getting :)

also hasn't region 1 got an animated short the goddess of spring which isn't on region 2? could anyone with region 2 let us know if this short is actually on their disc as i am going to get snow white shortly and i would like to know if this is on region 2 or not.

"Goddess of spring" is definately missing from the R2 and the "making of" on R2 is a lot shorter than the R1 (20 something mins vs 30 something mins). All in all R1 wins hands down - and of course if such things bother you the music is at the correct speed too!

i believe the only differences are with Disc 1 - that the R1 'making of' is 38m52 (vs about 23m), and it has the 'Goddess of Spring' short and the original mono soundtrack extra

the R2 has the extra book ('The art of Snow White' ?) with it, tho - and the 'book' packaging (altho IMHO i thought it looked a bit tacky)
