Thought i'd start this now as Kryten won't be around to start it straight after its aired.
We should see Chase arriving in Mexico late on in this ep, will he screw it all up?
And back at CTU, who's in charge? Tony? Chapelle?
How will David Palmer react when he finds out Jack breaking Salazar out of prison was the plan all along.
Will we find out why Hector is willing to let Jack back, and will we find out the CTU reason for the same thing?
Too many things to know!
Just goes to show how good last weeks episode was. Hope tonights doesn't disapoint now.
This episode is most anticipated, though I just know there'll be a major cliffhanger, making the 3 week wait for a new episode very painful.:(
It's gonna take some doing to beat episode 7 that's for sure. But no doubt, for me this is the most anticipated 24 episode since season 2 when Palmer got removed.
I'm not going to watch this for least another week, that way the wait won't be so bad.

Chase Abramovich is this season's new Kim Bauer.. how the hell did he get off the plane?
Fair episode, if you forget the ridiculous 'sting' plot explanation  with a nice last five minutes.. but the 'cliffhanger' was well ghey - it was more of a curbhanger..

Would have been a killer cliff hanger if they have ended it 90 seconds earlier.
The explanation was pretty crap, and the majority of the episode was boring. But why is the Ukranian English?

He looks more like Adrian Mutu.
Another good episode, shame there wasn't a bullet in the gun
Didn't think Jack's explanation for the sting plot was as bad as people seem to think.
And yea, why the hell was the Ukranian english? :suspect:
Can't say it was good as last week's episode, though I couldn't believe it when Jack pulled the trigger.
Just seen a trailer for the next episode.
Perhaps he was educated in England?

:D You say that every week!
 This series is great. Hard to top last weeks killer ending, but gripping TV nonetheless.
Glad Dr whoever is gone. Palmers sub-plot is dull.
Jack's undercover work, had a nice perk :norty:
I can only guess, the virus is taken back to LA with Chase and Jack in follow. I can't see the rest of the series being set in the desert.
I wonder if a certain ex-CTU lover of Jack's has a Ukranian connection.. :suspect:

A pretty good follow on episode from last weeks bombshell of a twist.
Christmas won't be the same without a new episode of 24 (or Alias for that matter!) until the new year.

I can't believe that Anne is out of the series - surely allegations that she shot Ted will start to emerge when the cops find her prints on the gun.
I also don't belive that the transponder would be broken by that tap on the wall - the watch part maybe, but the transponder should be made of tougher stuff.
I'm guessing that the "Ukrainians" will reintroduce Nina's group (possibly with the attack on the President at the end of S2 being the virus' first trial run).
This season seems to have less rewatchability than the others as the 1st third is essentially a big bluff.
Look for Nina to make her big entrance in the next episode - 9pm. Sherry Palmer will follow an hour later.

Wasn't the Ukranian the guy on the boat at the end of Season2?

Dang are you sure?
This Ukranian dude even reminded me of someone I've seen before, and I coulda sworn it was that dodgy geezer...
i thought it was the same bloke too. with that accent he could actually be from anywhere and just be saying he's Ukranian. or maybe not
Right, I've just finshed getting upto speed on the latest series and I'm loving it so far.
With regard to pulling the trigger, I guess Jack considers the threat of this virus more important that Chase's life.
We're definatley going to get some comeback when they find Anne's prints on the gun...
I dont quite know whats going on with Tony falling over all the time, I reckon he'll pass out at a cruicial time and he'll be the only one to know something which is needed at that exact time..
You just cant beat a bit of 24!

Maybe Jack felt that the weight of the gun wasn't as much as it should have been (given the lack of bullets) so he knew it was safe to fire.

yeah that did cross my mind, but if you looked at his face he seemed a bit shocked... so I wasnt sure.
Exciting stuff though for sure!

I've just watched this and thought it was yet another good episode, I don't think Jack had much choice and he had to pull the trigger, also the look on his face seemed to indicate to me that he didn't know it was empty.
Jack had no idea the gun was empty IMO. The shock on his face after he pulled the trigger told the story.
Just watched this finally. Nice episode opening a few more possible storylines, and then thre trailer for next week

As with all US shows they go on hiatus for a few weeks at a time several times a year (Early Nov, Christmas, Feb & March/April usually - maybe a few other odd weeks too). This is why when a show starts in the UK in Jan it finishes about the same week as the show in the US. Its really annoying when you live here.

I noticed that the geniuses at SKY managed to show next week's "Previously on 24" before 'Jake 2.0' today. That's a nice recap of the events that SKY viewers we to watch in 1 hours time!!!
Fortunately I quickly realised what was happening so not too much has been spoiled for me. Idiots!!!

Yep. After "The Gift" I've refused to trust Sky. I go around to Kryten's house to watch shows now. ;)

Sky's "spoilers" are nothing compared to this place - I can't be the only person to have read the wrong sky thread and wondered, for example, how I missed the part with Kim trapped naked in the hall of mirrors?*
Can we put something like "USTV" in front of programs not yet shown on UK TV and change it when they are??
(* example for illustration purposes only - not a spoiler)

OK, so I wasn't really concentrating when Jack was explaining the deal to Hector....
He's setting up a meet with these Ukranians, who have the virus, that the Salazars are going to buy? Yes? Or are they buying the weapons :searchme:
How are the Salazars going to be making any (I think the figure $1bn was quoted) money from this? A ransom perhaps...
Or am I being really thick.....(I just completely missed the explanation... :p)

There is a thread at the top of the page that should help you out. It links to the thread for each episode so as long as you remember what epsiode you last saw you shouldn't have any problem.
That Kim scene is rather good but it's already been announced that it will be removed from the version screened by Sky :p
Which episode was the Kim scene in?? I never saw that bit!!
I have to see it!!!! ;) :norty:

Erm ... what weapons
The Salazars are going to buy the virus for $100M, I think, and then presumably hold the US to ransom for the $1bn.

The Salazars are buying the virus to sell on at a profit...

Fair enough. Cheers for the explanation.
I didn't think that they would be able to get away seriously with holding the US to ransom for $1bn, to be fair. There's no way that plan would work. The "selling it on" explanation makes a lot more sense.
I just kind of glazed over when Jack was explaining the deal to Hector :)
I thought the Ukranians were also weapons dealers....that's where I got the weapons idea from...
Roll on Ep. 9
