Has anybody got any info on a possible green light for Ghostbusters 3, as the last I read was that Bill Murray is totally against the idea.
I' m all for a third as long as it doesn't involve any famous New York landmarks fighting the good fight on their behalf (G2), could there ever be a return to form for Stanz, Venkman, Spengler, Slimer and all the rest of the free roaming vapours et al ?,
Cheers,
Glenn:suspect:

i highly doubt a comeback would be on the cards.

they've all moved on and lets face it, aged.

Unless they came back in a purely advisory role to a bunch of new younger busters.

Thats been rumoured for some time, I'd love to see the guys in a movie again but it would have to be well written and directed.

If its going to be worse than 2 then I'd rather they just left it alone.

Definitely cluderi, the sequel was an animal, and regarding the script i saw gross pointe blank the other night and i think with a sharp script and good cast, Dan ackroyd can still pull it off.

probably won't happen as Bill Murray apparantly owns a piece of it and has no interest in doing it

Could it work without Bill Murray ?

They were interviewing Dan Akroyd in Empire a few months back and said they are all pretty keen on the idea apart from Murray, who owns part of the rights, so unless they get him to agree it won't be made :oh-hum:

Dan Akroyd said on Richard and Judy a couple of months back it will never happen. At least not unless Bill changes his mind, because he owns a chunk.

Given the size of Aykroyd and Ramis last time I saw them (check out As Good As It Gets, for example), I think we'd be laughing at them not with them. :|

What about having one of them cast as the Stay puffed marshmellow man then ?,
let winston have a larger part and jobs a gudden',
cheers,

I loved the 2nd one!

Brings back memories of when I was a little spoilt brat who got annoyed with his mother for giving birth on his birthday when he was supposed to go watch Ghostbusters 2! :ignore:

Murrays an idiot for not doing it, I havent watched him in a good comedy for ages ... he seems content on doing serious roles. The last time I saw Akroyd he was going bald in a terrible movie called Earth Vs The Spider, two great comedians wasted.

I'd love them to make a ghostbuster 3.
not gonna happen tho'.

Things are pretty sour between Dan Ackroyd and Columbia

If Murry wins awards for Lost in Translation there's no way it will happen. Apparently he didn't really want to do Ghostbusters 2

i think a third film would be a step too far. The two that were made are brilliant comic films and i think it's time to let it go - it's almost ten years since the first two

Try twenty years since the first one.

Twenty Years and it still looks great.

I think a new team wouldn't work as the chemistry between the original cast was just so good.

Which means twenty years ago (on the UK release date, anyway), I had my eye-patch removed (it was to correct a lazy eye) - which I had to wear for almost two years

To avoid looking geeky as all hell, I wore a pirate-type eyepatch over it and looked supercool :)

Somehow there's no photos of me with it on, and there's plenty of me from every other time period.

My dad had just gotten off the night shift and took me to the hospital to get the patch taken off, then we went to see ghostbusters - how I screamed at the library scene - and turned to him in the empty cinema, only to find him fast asleep.

Watched the first one again just last week and was again deligted that the comedy is as fine as it was when I saw it at my local Odeon two decades ago (I now feel old). Sharp script, choc full of one-liners and great special effects.

Boink!

there has already been a third 'ghostbusters' film. it was called 'evolution'. it was originally the third film but the other guys who did ghostbusters didn't want to do a third film, so that is why dan akroyd was in the film as well.

Only if it was a film dedicated to Ernie Hudson would I be for a third Ghostbusters...

I heard that Evolution was originally a serious Sci-Fi script, but it was later changed into a comedy in the vein of ghostbusters.

where does this evolution rumour come from?
There is a Ghostbusters 3 script and its called Hellbent. But it won't get made because of Columbia not wanting to commit to such a large budget and Murray doesn't want to do it.

I have read this evolution rumour a few times on here but I've never read anything first hand.

I saw it on cable once when evolution was about to come on. the preview title came up and it gave the list of people who would be starring in it and sometimes as an added bonus a little bubble pops up to tell you interesting facts about the film. it clearly stated that the evolution script was at one time the third ghostbusters script but was not filmed and instead changed to have three other scientists in it. which is why there is a cameo made by dan akroyd.

hmm, I am a bit skeptical about that to be honest.

For those interested, the 20th anniversary of Ghostbusters and A Nightmare on Elm Street are coming and someone shot a film called "Freddy vs Ghostbusters", the file is over 100MB big
