I have read reviews and threads of these players, which helped me narrow my choice down to these players.

1st choice is the Pioneer DV-360S for £69.99 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000095S3V/qid=1072896660/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/202-4062981-6085450)

2nd choice is the Pioneer DV-464S for £89.99 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00009VFVM/qid=1072896700/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/202-4062981-6085450)

3rd choice is the Yamada DVX-6100 for £79.99 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000B0A4H/qid%3D1072896759/202-4062981-6085450)

Far as I can tell the main difference between my 1st and 2nd choice is the facia of the player. Personally I prefer the facia of the 1st choice ;)

I am tempted on the Yamada even though I only have original DVD's. If the players are equel on DVD picture and sound quality, then having the ability to play the additional formats has got to be a bonus?

I have a Sony KV-32FD1 TV. I pressume I will have no problems playing back R1 NTSC discs? I currently have an LG-3000E DVD player and haven't had any problems.

Thanks in advance for any responses given :)

I doubt if the Yamada will quite match the pioneer for picture. Although that said the pioneer isn't class leading as both the toshiba 330 and Panasonic SE35 models have a better picture.

The Yamada will probably have the advantage that if your tv doesn't cope with ntsc very well it will convert ntsc dvd output to pal 50hz.

The build quality of the Yamada will not match the Pioneer but the Yamada will support a lot more formats and media.

If your only planning to use commercial dvds then the Pioneer is the obvious choice. Personally I have a Kiss DP-450 and find its divx/xvid compatibility very useful.

Too late misterblister. Was very tempted on the Yamada and may get one as another player later.

I used to think my old LG-3000E was good but I love my Pioneer 360S
