Has anyone got any experience of these, of particular interest is 'Chimes at Midnight'?

Thanks for any help

I'm afraid I know nothing of the quality, since I didn't know they existed.
But a look at www.dvdgo.com shows both The Magnificent Ambersons and Chimes at Midnight . I knew Ambersons was coming out in france later this year, but I'd not heard anything about Chimes anywhere. So I'm willing to take a chance on them.

Thanks. If you do risk it, let me know how it goes.:)

Just received The Magnificent Ambersons , the quality is nothing special, rather soft with a fair few nicks and scratches about, but not utterly appaling. (Not too far from the R2 Citizen Kane , perhaps. But once you've seen the new R1 restored version of that, you realise how crisp and pristine a film like that can look.)

The menu on The Magnificent Ambersons only offers a spanish version or an english version with spanish subtitles, but I was able to switch off the subtitles using my player's display menu without any problem. There is a 25 min "Hollywood Remembers" tv-style documentary on Welles included, but that doesn't look particularly special.

All in all, I'd say it was worth at least waiting to hear about the french version that is coming fairly soon before getting this spanish version.

I haven't received Chimes at Midnight yet.
