Agreed, and the individual seasons weren't exactly cheap. Stinks really...:oh-hum:

don't quite understand the article Fox will simply be re-issuing the existing UK discs, and adding the bonus materials on two new DVDs
Does this mean that the set will have the original 7 DVDs with the episodes that have commentries repeated on the 3 bonus discs ?!?
I know that commentries were recorded for all the episodes, but fox chose not to use them all in R1-land. Was hoping they would here, but it doesn't seem likely.

Well i already have season 1 at the moment, so i will likley end up ditching it for the boxset now, but it is certainly annoying as that's about 10 quid wasted :/ I'll have to try n flog it to a m8 now or something

Yes, that's what I understand. It makes sense from Fox's point of view - it would be cheaper to author two new DVDs than re-author the - what? - seven or eight existing discs to accommodate the bonus features.
As once said in the Simpsons:
"Well, I never believed it could be possible, but that both sucks AND blows..."
Why? WHY? I and many others have faithfully bought the seasons as they've come out and now THIS?!
Money-raking bar stewards... I ain't buying it!!
Is all the extras for the new set on the existing R1 Seasons????:suspect:
The words "wasted opportunity" spring to mind. I originally bought the R2 release of Season 1, but then traded up for the R1 releases at no real loss. Then I was quite saddened to hear that Seth McFarlane and various cast and crew had in fact recorded commentaries for every episode, yet Fox in their infinite wisdom only included 14 tracks on the R1 releases.
So what do Fox UK go and do? They knock up a set that features the exact same bonus features found on the R1 set when they could have got one over on their American counterpart by producing a completely new set with audio commentary on every single episode.
As it stands those extra features listed are no different from what you'll find on the R1 sets, with a series of "Internet Promos" being the only omission.
The fact they're not even re-authoring the discs suggests to me they might be planning some form of deal for those who already bought the season box sets, if they're not then their stupidity and lack of common courtesy to the consumers knows no bounds

Maybe they will sell the extra features disc seperately, than those of us with the disc already we can just buy the extra features

Well Warner did it with Matrix Revisted so hopefully Fox can do the same?
I thought this was announced ages ago that a set with all 3 seasons plus extras would be released around March  It was from these forums that I found out as well and thats why I held off buying the seasons separately. It's also been up for pre-order from play for a while.

I've already got all the series on Dvd so this is just annoying - I won't be 'upgrading'!
Yay this was announced awhile back but they didnt confirm any extras on the set but i sold all three seasons for 50 quid then they pushed the date back to feb but im glad i have sold them now ! watching alot of futurama atm(all 4 seasons) so im dying for some more family guy again.
This happens way too much :suspect: Thanks Fox :cuckoo:
I thought family guy had been resurrected for another season due to good DVD sales, making a whole series boxset a bit premature?
Or was that a different show

What - he was moaning that he'd wasted £10 on season 1 - I was replying that he could easily get this money back by selling it on eBay.:blah:
I have already bought the series on R2 so won't be going for this.
Anyone else who has the season 3 on region 2, isn't the case cover art shoddy?
