View Full Version : American history x.
Bought this film from the hmv sale for £9.99, what a superb film, hadnt really heard much about the film apart from the curb biting bit. Anybody else agree with me?
Yep, class film
Can you believe the Director disowned it because Americans didn't *get* it? Pah!
one of the best films i've seen!

Tony Kaye didn't edited the finished version of the film so he claimed it wasn't his vision and refused to be interviewed.
Edward Norton finished the editing himself on the film.
Excellent film!
There'd been so much mention of that scene on these forums (a regular candidate in "The most disturbing scene ever" type threads) that once I got around to seeing it, I was rather underwhelmed. It does have a lot of other strong points though, and Norton's terrific, so yes, tis a very good film indeed

I can believe americans didnt *get* it, but not that a director could be stubborn enough to do something like that about his own project........are there any other examples of this happening? i know there was something freaky about the godfather cut but cant remember what.....
What was the original directors cut. I've heard so much about it but never what actually happened in it!

Excellent film and well worth £9.99. I'm surprised it wasn't a bigger hit than it was.
The transformation of the Ed Norton character from hard bitten racist to nice guy isn't especially convincing but a powerful film nonetheless & well worth owning.
