I am going to my girlfriends over Christmas (from 23rd to 28th) and as she lives in the south of Ireland and in the middle of nowhere the only channels her parents receive are the local Irish Stations (RTE).

I am planning to set my Tivo to record stuff over the Xmas period, what are the essential things i should set it for while i am away ?

The only thing i can think of at the moment is The Office Xmas special, is there anything else ?

Do her parents receive TV3? There maybe some good shows on there as it's owned by Granada.

Apparently there is a Scrapheap X-mas special, and it does NOT get picked up automatically by a Scrapheap Season Pass. Naughty Tivo/Tribune!

The only film I will record it High Fidelity on my new DVD Recorder. My VHS copy is worn out.

How about Amelie?

THE must see film this Christmas is the brilliant French cartoon 'Bellville Rundavue' (But spelt right. :dork: ) which is on Christmas day at 7p.m.

Without "The" however

The Libdem Cultural minister bloke was critising the BBC for showing a load of repeats at xmas. Shame they do it all the time

And with an "e" in Belleville.

Def want to catch that, but there's not a great deal else on that inspires me except for the Office...

depending on how :dork:y you are, possibly the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures although the last few since the move to C4 have been a little crap imo

A Very Peculiar Practice - complete 1st series being shown this week on BBC4 - surely one of the classic British tv series.
