Hi guys,

i ordered my moms xmas present (a book) from splashdvd as it was a good price. Anyway i have just got home to find it has arrived today. they have put it in the thinnest jiffy bag u have ever seen, one even thinner than they use for dvd's, and consequentialy its smashed up, the book binder and cover is bent (hardback) and the cover around it is dog-earred like you wouldnt believe. Im really annoyed about this. can anyone tell me what the standard procedure for splash dvd is in these kind of cases? am i going to have to post it back ot them at my expense just to get another smashed up one?

any help would be appreciated,

thanks

Phone them up to complain. I wouldn't bother emailing them as they don't reply.

Not true. I am in a similar situation to hardtofin.

25/11 Ordered Westlife DVD Boxset [It's for my sister, honest!].
26/11 E-mail telling me that the item is in stock and will be dispatched within 2 days
01/12 E-mail telling me that the item has been dispatched [3 days late but not too fussed about that].
05/12 Item arrived damaged in poor quality jiffy bag.
05/12 Relabled and sent straight back.
05/12 Sent e-mail informing Splash that the DVD is on it's way back.
10/12 Acknowledgement that they have received the item.
11/12 E-mail telling me that they will order a new one and that I will see it 'shortly'.
12/12 E-mail telling me that they have refunded the £2.01 that I paid for postage on sending the DVD back.

So, without pushing the issue, they have done their best to rectify this matter without having to be pushed along. As long as I get an undamaged replacement before 25/12, then I'll be happy.

I guess thats what always surprises me about people who are happy with Splash. There's generally a tale of how things took ages to turn up, but they did in the end, so people are happy.

If it took a month for me to get an unbroken anything from an online retailer, I'd be furious.
