Is the current R1 / R4 (I believe they are the same NTSC disc) the version to get?
Is there any likelihood that Warners might re-release this title as a Special Edition? From the reviews I've read it's suppossed to look stunning but seeing as they've revisited films like "Casablanca" and added more extras etc would it be an idea to hold off buying for a while?
ta for any info :)

I would seriously doubt we'll see an SE of this title in the forseeable future; the current disk boasts a superb restoration and transfer which they would be very hard pressed to better.

The R4 is exactly the same as the R1 (except it comes in an Amaray, not a snapper), and is, as you say NTSC - my advice is to buy this superb film now.

BTW, if you're a Bette Davis fan, the Fox Studio Classics version of All About Eve in R1 not only has a great transfer, but has some good extras too.

Don't forget Jezebel, Dark Victory and The Little Foxes - the transfers are a bit soft, but the films are Bette-licious!

I asked Warners about their Davis library during their chat with HTF. If I remember correctly, they said they loved those films but not to expect them until after the Bogart, Cagney & Flynn DVDs. Too bad she has to wait so long. I guess WB doesn't believe in Ladies first. :brickwall

On a semi-related note, anyone know when the Fox HTF chat transcript is due to go up?
