Are the any plans for a 2 Disc Special Edition of Halloween 2 as the story from the first continues on the same night, so it's like a two part story and I was going to get it but decide to hear from you to see if a SE is imentant.

Any News Please!

Sadly its about as likely as Star Wars: A New Hope being announced for a before Xmas release :D

Paramount did have an SE scheduled for September, but that was then stripped down to a bare bones Anamorphic only release. Paramount do not allow other companies to release their titles (which is how Anchor Bay usually work), and apparently (what i read on AICN) the director of Halloween 2 is a bit of an idiot and way too demanding with regards to what he wants done on his projects...

I suppose an R2/R4 version is possible, but I doubt it given what I read about the director.

Actually it was Universal who released it, and they have licensed plenty of titles out to Anchor Bay (Army of Darkness, Repo Man) and Criterion before now, though the former is probably more likely to work on any special edition.

I certainly know Anchor Bay have tried to get the rights to it previously.

What I find bizarre is that Universal's anamorphic release of "Halloween II" was released on Sept 18th on R1, yet there is hardly a retailer who stocks it. Play/********* etc don't have it. Play said that they knew nothing about it!
It's almost Halloween and I want this by then!
I've ordered from Interdvd for £19.99 (eek!) 'cause their website says 'in-stock' - yet when I called them 5 days later to ask where it was they said it was on back-order. What IS going on with this release?????? First it was a full-on SE, then a bare-bones (but anamorphic) release and now it seems to have disappeared?

Has anyone actually received this from anywhere?

don't pay £20 for it!! not really worth it considering there are no extras.

www.dvdboxoffice.com have it for around £14, www.dv-depot.com for around £15 (assuming you buy 7 discs worth to make the DHL shipping worth it)....

www.dvdimport.com have it for around £13 but then you'll probably never receive it :D

I'm tempted to replace my Goodtimes version, although that has a very good non-anamorphic picture..

you are of course correct - although in the HTF chats Anchor Bay have said Halloween 2 is highly unlikely as Universal no longer like to license stuff out to them.
