View Full Version : Drop Dead Fred?
Dear me, a guilty pleasure if ever there was one, but a pleasure it is.
I am willing to stand up and be counted as one who would love to see Drop Dead Fred on DVD? But where? And when? Anyone have a clue?
Yes, I love this film too.
I don't think there is a DVD release anywhere as yet. There may be sometime in the future. But none now.
One time, they showed this film (which has a '15' certificate) at 2pm on S4C - I was able to pick it up.

Yeah, it's a good film and i am a fan of Rik Mayall. It always reminds me of Bettlejuice.
Yep - I like Rik Mayall. I like his vile, stupid shows.
I love the bit in Drop Dead Fred where:
There's poo all over the nice carpet!
How did I know that was going to be in the spoiler tag? :D
I have to admit, its one of my little pleasures also. This type of humor always goes down big with me. Just a little kid at heart.
Lets just hope that someone decent picks it up for a DVD release.
It has to be a good DVD release if it will be released, though.
Criterion - are you listening? :p
How Criterion could refuse, I don't know... :p
Well, OK, maybe we could downgrade just a tiny bit. How about Columbia TriStar then? Come on? Come on! COME ON!
With Phoebe Cates airing again in Gremlins/Gremlins 2, I thought about Drop Dead Fred again, I dont know why but I love this movie (still got it on VHS!).
Anyway go here to sign an online petition but with only 672 signatures at the moment (mine being the last) I dont think it''s got much POWER behind it!!

What the...?!
Have you never heard the proverb "let sleeping threads lie?"
After 10 months you've hauled this up!
And no studio will release it if only 672 people want to get it. Stop with all the pointless petitions and start writing letters!
get over it, as you clearly are NOT!

I love this film, too. It was one of the very first videos I bought and I remember going to Woolworths every few days around it's release waiting for them to get it in.
I'll even admit to shedding a tear near the end of the movie.
PIRATES!
(that's a quote, not a recommendation of how to get this movie on DVD...)
Great movie - needs a decent DVD.
Drop Dead Fred ... the daftest choice of film I ever showed a child!
There's nothing to dislike about this film. Insane, slapstick toilet humour! But come on ... who *hasn't* wanted to do that in a restaurant? :D
