Looking quite well for a 57 year old, quite Bond like in some of those pictures, wouldn't mind watching this!!:D

And it's in London, I'm thinking about going to this, Dalton's last time on the stage was over a decade or so ago, he's looking youthful and Bond like at 57. This play sounds very interesting as well, if you read the link, I've never been to any live performances, so if I were to go, this would be the best opportunity, plus watch a James Bond actor perform live..

Timothy Dalton is back in a tale that’s more fantastical than any Bond film (even "Die Another Day"!). The Sunday Times has reported on the team bringing His Dark Materials to the National Theatre.
If you're goign to go youd better decide soon - got tickets yesterday and there are only about 10 performances left!

They are practically sold out. There are around 22 performances available for Part 1 and only 2 dates for part 2 after December. Better get those tickets quick !

If it is a big hit then chances are it will transfer to a West End theatre.

Actually, thats not all that likely.
The technology behind this show is unique to the Olivier stage in the National Theatre, which has a huge open stage, a bit like a colisseum. IOt also has a revolving stage and a huge drum/cylinder in the sentre of the stage that can go up and down, and counter rotate. It can also be filled with water to create a lake.
So, whilst this may well transfer, it also is less likely to do so than other performances in this theatre. On the other hand, I am usually wrong about these things.
first three performances of HDMI were cancelled due to technical problems. first performance of HDMII put back a night.
the fact that they're addind extra show to accomodate those let down rather than trying to reseat them at existing show indicates how close this run is to a sell out.
