View Full Version : Jeremiah Season 2
I'm a bit lost on whats going on with Jeremiah, with tvtome and epguides not being up to date on the show.
I'm pretty sure its been canceled, but when will the rest of the episodes be shown? I know i downloaded episode 8 today and I have no idea where that came from.
:help:
I don't know anything about it being cancelled, but it's being treated pretty badly true. I know JMS has said he wants nothing to do with a third season, or at least nothing more to do with MGM.
TV tome is all over the place with episodes listed twice in places. The last ep I've downloaded and seen is 2.07 "Voices In The Dark" but I've just noticed that 2.08 has appeared on my usual source.
Deaks.
edit: just found a comment here (http://www.imdb.com/SB?20031121#11) about Jeremiah being "recently cancelled". :brickwall
Looks like Luke Perry's got a new job too

What made me think that I'd already seen the second season
When it was shown on Sky did they split it in two or something? Damn all this time and I could have been watching it, I even saw Season 2 episodes about but I ignored them thinking I'd seen them :brickwall
Sky didnt split it in two, they just stopped showing it on Mondays at 10pm and moved it to 2am silly hour on Sky Mix.
Season 2 has been very good so far, and I truly hope it hasnt been cancelled. The story arc has only just began.

God knows what made me think that then.
Have Sky started showing Jeremiah S2 on Sky one yet as my Tivo hasn't picked anything up for ages from this series since the end of series 1.
Nope not yet, I'd be surprised if they even have it in the pipeline :(
Just watched ep 8 of season 2 and its by far the best ep Jeremiah has had so far. JMS is a storyline genious.
Sean Astin stole this episode by a mile, excellent character.
Can't wait until next weeks
Not sure when "next weeks" will be as we don't know where this one came from. I looked at the Showtime programme listings for all of December yesterday and Jeremiah wasn't listed.
Is there any indication on the copy you're watched who showed this, ie. on screen logo etc...?
Deaks.
Nope, nothing. Its a HDTV release, so must be on one of the networks.
Apparently a Canadian network aired it

Can I ask what your source for this is? As they were not picking up Alias season 3 I would have thought they would not bother with Jeremiah

That's good to hear, lets just hope it gets shown sooner rather than later :)

It hasnt been cancelled.
JMS is leaving after this season due to not wanting to work with MGM.
The second half of season 2 is currently airing on mondays on Movie Central in Canada as they havent interupted the season like showtime have.

Not officially but most of the entertainment press is reporting it as cancelled.
Deaks.
I can't see it going beyond this season, which is a pain because a story arc is really hitting full gear now and will be a shame to rush it all in this season. :(
Well that was it. The season 2 finale aired the other night, and after watching it I can salute JMS for bringing us yet another glorious full season. There was not one bad episode in Season 2 of Jeremiah. It looks like the show won't continue on , its a real pity because there is still life in the show.
However, I'm glad the show ended in such high quality, and it ranks as some of the best tv I have seen in a long long time.
Jeremiah :notworthy
Now i'm gonna buy the dvds
Yeah the last couple of episodes were great, Mr Smith was amazing, although the rest of cast were all very good too. Very dissapointed it wont continue, but the last episode didnt really leave many questions, so that was good.
So were there only 15 episodes in S2. Without giving anything away does it finish on a cliffhanger?
Is S2 going to get an airing in the UK?

Yep, only 15 eps in season 2 :(
And no, it doesnt end on a cliffhanger
Just watched 2.15 tonight and it felt like they knew they wern't getting renewed so finished things off a bit. It felt a little rushed and sudden in the last ten mins but had a nice resolution to it.
Deaks.
I'm glad to hear that, it would have been awful had it not reached a conclusion.

The whole of season 2 was rushed.
It was supposed to be 5 seasons, with season 1 running as intended, but s2-4 had to be compressed into s2.
JMS had to finish his story in s2 because if there was an s3 it wouldve been different writers etc.
Hmm, I've never heard mention of it supposedly being a 5 season plan. Where did you hear that?
I didn't feel the whole the season was rushed, the last 2 - 3 eps seemed so slightly.
I think Jeremiah deserved a 3rd season, but I don't think it could have gone for 5
Would have been nice to develop Simms even more, my favourite evil dude for a while.
JMS had a five year plan for it, but with not nearly the same level of detail as he had for B5 - more just a general idea of where it was going and how to end it. I'm gonna watch the last 2 eps of season 2 tonight - if you think about it though, season 1 plus the first two eps of season two is pretty much also a complete story within itself. So it's possible that this next story (season 2) would have been resolved within the premiere of season 3, but when JMS decided not to stay on board for a third season, he simply compressed it into season 2. Admittedly with season 2 being a short season aswell some things may have been rushed slightly, but I don't think he squeezed the plot of all the remaining seasons into this one.
Also remember that JMS only wrote 9 episodes of the first season, the ones he didn't write weren't particualry arc related, and more standalone. This season he wrote 12.5 of the 15 episodes, hence the much tighter arc.

Most Drama series are planned to be 5 years. If they do well it's the expected run.
