If your a fan of the Elm St franchise then definately worth the buy. I don't know how much it goes for these days. I bought it on release for around £45 (I think) - couldn't believe the half a job R2 set when I saw it.
fantastic set though all are r rated i beleive a few shots are cut from the first film and possibly one of the other movies but not sure? not much in the way of extras on the films but its more than made up for by the last bonus disc.
this 8th disc is a walk through game you have to find various easter eggs when you do they reward you with different endings, clips and interviews from various tv shows its easter egg heaven.
got mine from *********/digital fixx £55 and customs friendly
if you are a freddy fanatic or just interested snap one up much better than its r2 counterpart.
Another vote for the R1 set!
And the 8th disc is fab - hours of fun!
There is one slightly trimmed shot in the 1st film Tina falling off the ceiling into a pool of blood and the several in the 5th that bloke being 'consumed' by the motorbike scene and the Greta being force fed scene . Both of these were uncut 18 on Fox VHS in the UK...
BUT the R2 DVD release has the SAME R rated versions as the US, so the R1 complete boxset is really the only option and by far the better presentation.

Thanks for all the info. I've just won an auction for the R1 set. Just got to find the shelf space for it. :D
