View Full Version : what kit allows mp3's on pc to be played around the house??
got a great pc jukebox with mp3's
now looking for a solution for playing these mp3's not just through pc speakers but in speakers all round the house, ie kitchen, living room, hall, etc.
What kit do i need?
is there a remote or infra red or radio controlled solution possible?
i have wireless interent rigged around the house already
thanks
Cyrus have a new product out called the LinkServer which is a massive HD storage device and which networks (wireless if you want) to any number of client devices around your house. Looks pretty cool...

Gosh Simon,

But wot if i dont have 4000 quid? hehe was lookin for somethin a bit cheaper really
;-)
Why not just buy a Shuttle PC, put a wireless card in it, large hard drive and all the MP3's you want to play. Will that not do the same thing at a fraction of the price? Or there's the new AOpen small PC around the same size as a Shuttle, but the drive bays are covered with a hinged flap hiding say an optical drive, etc.
Oops, misread the first post! However, you could link a PC to a conventional audio amp and route to speakers around the house I suppose.
you want one of these (£200+ though) :

or there is a new wireless version
