I have an order with play at the moment and the status screen keeps going from 'Processing' to 'packing' and back again. Anyone know why this is happening? Also I hope they aren't charging the card every time.

I've never had a double billing problem with play.
As to the statuses, here is my guess: Could be a popular item that came into stock (at which point your order went to "packing") but they didn't have enough to send yours (at which point your order went back to "processing").
