Just watched this from last night, pretty reasonable stand alone ep, and a interesting to see that the cyborgs could be back... Not sure why but I didn't see it coming that Wesley's dad was a cyborg, after thinking about it, it was pretty obvious in places, I knew he was going to be bad in it from the outset (too obvious) but seeing Wesley shoot him like that. Nice to see Wes and his guns blazing again at the start too in the same way as "Reign Of Fire" last season.

Next Week:

we will see Dru again, but in the past as we find out why Angel and Spike fight over their women...

According to the trailer anyway...

i really liked this ep for some reason. i thought it was a great little story with some very funny moments. also though the conversation between Spike and Eve was interesting, although I don't like implication that W&H meant for Spike to have the amulet all along. it looks like the writers were forced to make Spike more important, therefore they're rewriting the vampire-with-a-soul prophecy that had been building up in both Buffy and Angel since season 1.

Have to say I absolutley loved this ep - so funny, and seeing Wes shuffle over to be sick was surprising! Really liked the awy he didn't hesitate for 1 second before shooting.

In a way I was pleased the father was a cyborg, or Iwould have been all sad for Wes....Made me shudder the way he continued to emptythe rounds into him!

Good ep, waaaaaay better than last week's. When Wesley shot his father I had a Se7en flashback
when John Doe got shot at the end.

Few funny lines from Spike - not sure I'm liking this amulet thing. I really want the prophecy to be about Angel... but what if they pull a Quantum Leap ending?

Considering the previous episode had a mixed reception, the thread:
http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=239522

has more replies this is better and great episode of Angel, and this will be the 8th reply?

Were people disappointed, that Angel was very good this week it spoiled their criticism mood, I think compared to other forums, people here just love to criticise, whenever a show's down, and kick it, when it rises manyrun off, and are scared to comment

I can, loathed as I am to admit it after a promising start to the season, now see 'Angel' going the way of 'Buffy' with extreme prejudice.

It was all very fresh and intriguing at first, but I recon I was missing wood for the trees. The Wolfram and Heart thing isn't any logical consequence of the storyline (hell, I'm still confused what the hell the storyline is after the debacle that finished season 4). It's a gimmick, albeit a well-done one, and any show that's forced to stoop to gimmicks is in *major* trouble.

Rejudge the season with this episode.

I thought it was a fantastic episode from start to finish  Certainly the best in the season so far (and I have enjoyed all the season, although last week wasn't that great) and probably a contender for best Angel ever IMHO

I suppose I'm biased because Wesley is my favourite character on show, and I had been looking forward the introduction of his father, but still a good episode.

I was certain about half-way through that Wesley's father was a robot, but by the end I had dismissed the idea, only to be proven wrong less then a minute later :dork:

Or perhaps many haven't seen it yet? You'll find if you check the days people posted on the other thread, that it took a long time to start posting in higher volume.

I thought the latest episiode was fine. Nothing special, nothing terrible. If I was to judge the whole season on that episode? I'd say it's not even the best one.

I "criticise" episodes I didn't like, and praise the ones I do - i think most people do the same.

Yes this was definatly the best of the season so far. Much more like the old Angel eps. I hope it stays good and Spike gets more of a part!!!!!

Spike needs some more air-time in the new series. I was left feeling that lineage was merely a filler ep, albeit a good one.

What do we think the senior partners have had planned for Spike?

Great episode, definitely best of the season so far! Wes is my favourite character, so I'm a bit biased. I didn't see it coming when his dad turned out to be a robot, great twist.

The Golden Boy did good :D I don't think Drew Goddard has put a foot wrong since joining Mutant Enemy...

Very, very good episode, and while the season so far lacks direction, the overall quality has been decent.

Just watched this great ep

The action has got much better this season from two gun woo mode by Wez to the overall karate used by Angel :)

Great ep ..one of the best Angel eps ever IMO.

Wes not even hesitating to take his ''Dad'' out

Spike had some decent lines in this ep...especially the robot sex line

Not seeing how people think that this is one of the best episodes of Angel ever!

It was OK, but REALLY predictable that Wes' old man was a robot. Really nothing special at all. And they had slow-mo in it! Angel is just not a show for slow-mo

I thought this was a great episode, probably my fave of the season so far.

It's good to see Wesley given more to do than he usually is.
