View Full Version : O'Leary return to Leeds United?
On the back of wo newspapers today - so it must be true! (Sun and Mail I think)
Its reported O'Leary has had a fall out with Deadly Doug and is now set for a return to Leeds United.
Is it April 1st? :suspect: :cuckoo:
Heard this on fivelive this mornign an the bookies have cut the odds of being next manager from 33-1 to 4-1. Completely bonkers :cuckoo:
What's more :cuckoo: is that you mentioned newspaper and the sun in the same sentence :p
If we had Fergie as boss with Wenger as assistant we'd still struggle with Ellis at the helm.
For god's sake - PLEASE GO
I don't think it is that nuts that O'Leary is being considered again. It's not his fault that Ridsdale couldn't say no every time he asked for a new player.

Hart has ruled himself out too hasn't he!
Can't see O'Leary going back to be honest - the Talksport Alan Brazil "A little bird told me" whisper (and he's not often wrong!) was that Walter Smith was maybe back on the managerial safari!

If O'Leary is thinking of going back to a sinking (and by the end of the season non-exisition club) ship then he must be completly bonkers:cuckoo:
I doubt the rift created by that book and not to mention the £4m
payout would hardly help his cause.

If a good opportunity comes along he'll move. Working with Herbert is an nightmare.
It would be funny becaue Leeds would have to pay compensation to Villa as well as the severance money they are still paying to O'Leary :cuckoo:

By Matt Lawton DAILY MAIL
When mosquitoes pestered O'leary's players om a pre-season trip to Sweden, he sent a member of staff to the local chemist for some insect spray. Four cans came to about £16, recalls one insider, but Ellis still questioned what considered an unnecessary expense when the recipt landed on his desk.
:brickwall

The one bit of this story that has a real ring of truth about it.
I remember hearing about he death of FA Chairman Bert Millichip. Apparently he expired at an FA do and effectively died in Doug Ellis' arms. What a way to go. :oh-hum:
Bryan Robson is the man for the job ;)

Having to sit next to that old git Ellis listening to his tales of how he invented the bicycle kick would be enough to drive anyone to their grave.

Not really, just said he was committed to Forest and all that matters to him is this weekends game, not a definitive rule out.
I think Eddie Gray will keep the job on the basis that no one would/should be stupid enough to leave a job to go to Leeds.

O'Leary told the club's official website: "I'm here at Aston Villa and I'm happy at Aston Villa.
"I have a three-year deal and I hope I'm here for a lot longer than that. If the board asked me to sign a longer deal, I'd sign it."
He added: "I came here to Aston Villa in the summer and I knew it was going to be a hard job - I never pretended otherwise - and that intrigued me.
"I've never pretended the job could be done overnight, but I'm no quitter and I have no plans to walk away just because the job is as challenging as I always knew it would be."
Should sign by the end of next week then!
I thought it was Alan Leighton who got O'Leary the boot after losing patience? Seeing as he's still at Leeds' i'd say they were struggling for news today? ;)

Lets face it .. this is not going to happen. However, I believe this has been leaked by those in the DOL camp on purpose, as he is now fully aware of the kind of despot that runs AVFC. Gregory came out in the press and openly criticised the board of Villa and in the process exposed the truth, that Aston Villa is nothing more than a vessel for the Ellis Ego.
Ellis talks of ambition. He talks of saving the club in it's hour of need, when he has not put ONE SINGLE PENNY into AVFC.
DOL knows that we are desperate for investment in the team that has spiralled downward for the last 4 seasons. Maybe this is a method for raising the profile of the present state that we are in under the current regime.
Especially as he is in Dubai and away from the Press pack back in the UK.
