Fast and the Furious - need help from someone who's seen it

I went to watch this last week and when it was almost over the cinema had an alarm go off and everyone was evacuated. Turned out to be a false alarm but they said that they couldn't restart the movie where it had stopped so we could watch the whole thing again and get a refund. I got the refund but couldn't make myself watch the whole thing again. I just want to know what happened near the end.

The last bit that I saw was Vin Diesel's muscle-car and the cop's Orange Supra racing towards the train (after the two oriental bikers had been knocked down, etc.)

It must be pretty close to the end of the film.

Any help would be great.

Both the cop and Vin Diesel make it past the train, but Diesel's car gets trashed. Police sirens wail in the background and the cop and Diesel look at each other knowingly. The cop then decides to give diesel the keys to his orange car saying something like 'I promised you a 10 second car'. Deisel drives away. The end.

Not the best ending in the world, a bit predictable. There was also no 'closure' between the cop and Diesel's sister.

Thanks for the info Anton. Looks like I must have only missed about 2-3 minutes of the film (and not the best part by the sounds of it).

I went into it expecting mindless car related action, so I don't mind. :-)

Plus with the refund, I got to watch it free - well apart from 1.5 hours of my life I guess.

Didn't something happen after the credits? I thought that I had read that something had but I walked out during them so don't know for sure!!

Not much happens after the credits, just see him pull into some new town along a beach, cant remember what was said but just a couple of lines about his destiny or something.

Yes something does happen after the credits. For the first time in my life I stayed for the credits to read the soundtrack listing.
It's Vin Disel in baha california in another car. saying that speech about "how I only life for the 10 second of the quater mile" or somthing like that. Imagine the end of shawshank crossed with the end of point break and you've got the idea

That`s strange I saw a pirate copy of this on VCD the other day and it ended at exactly the same place.;)

However I already seen it at the cinema so I knew what happened.
