Kurosawa’s the Idiot DVD (not) released in the US

I see that this film has been released in R1. Is the release any good? Anyone know of any reviews?

That looks like an over-priced imported Hong Kong DVD release that can be bought from Yesasia for $12.25 (Direct Link (http://global.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?LU83C65N+http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-1002784896/did-0/code-j/section-videos/)). The quality on the Hong Kong Kurosawa releases is generally accepted to be poor.

I though it might be a proper R1 release from NewYorker Video, or who ever holds the Video rights. Now I think I’ll just wait until something better comes along, perhaps Criterion will issue this on DVD as they have with so many other of Kurosawa’s films?
