All fans of the fantastic Quadrophenia AVOID this Rhino dvd release.It says on the box that it has been remasted from the original 35 mill negative.The quality of this dvd is horrible,it is not anamorphic and the print used is terrible,faded scratched and speckled.Even the 1.85 black borders have a strange bend to them that makes the image look realy odd.:mad:

is that the R1? I noticed a newish Quadrophenia on DV-Depot and wondered what the word is on the quality.....

its a better version than the current uk version which horrible4.3 with little in the way of extras.
the us version has a crackin commentry by the director and some text stuff sting interview,5.1 sound.
apparantly the the print used for the uk release was found in a washin machine or so i read?
so looks like rhino did try to do there best with a neglected print.There are comparison features and the colour has been corrected the worst scenes are on the beach at the start very scratched but it does get better.
A fine uk movie its apity a better print cannot be found and that a commentry or interview with townsend could'nt be included.
if ya like quad buy for the commentry.
