It centres around a young boy. A spaceship crashed at the bottom of his garden and his parents are replaced by alien imposters. Noone believes the kid.

It's American and that is all I can remember other than it used to be shown regularly on BBC2 at teatime in seasons that usually included the Forbidden Planet and This Island Earth

Invaders From Mars, directed by Willaim Cameron Menzies.

A terrible remake was directed by Tobe Hooper in 1986 for those paragons of class movies Cannon.:thumbs:
