Dont agree with that myself, Old Trafford has so much history about it, it would be a shame to ditch it all just for a few extra quid. :(

Nice one
More sport to the City of Manchester
I have very fond memories of Old Trafford - been a Lancashire fan all my life (although haven't been to a game for a few years now) and think that it does indeed hold a special place in cricket history.
However, that should not prevent the club from looking forward if a new purpose-built 21st century arena is a viable proposition.
I'm all for it.
I think its more that they have to consider moving due to Trafford Council being obstructive to the concerts that are now integral to Lancashires financial plans.
It would be a shame to see them leave after 100+ years. I can understand their viewpoint though regarding concerts etc.
I heard somewhere that it is the oldest test ground in the world, can anyone confirm this?
If Yorkshire can't drag themselves away from the poo-hole that is Headingley, I doubt Lancashire would ever leave the actually quite good Old Trafford :)

I have to say I am surprised about this, but given the fact that Old Trafford faces the risk of loosing their test match status then I suppose something has to be done about it.
