I'm thinking of signing up to this, its only $19.99 for the year, and I miss having a peruse on the ol' star wars site, without having to worry about what I can, and can't see.
Missed a lot on the webcam, but i'm sure it'll come in useful.
Anyone a member? Is it worth it?
Thanks guys,
Rob.
I've been signed up for a while and think it's well worth it. The daily set diaries were great. Gave a good insight into what was going on while filming was taking place. They also have regular question and answers sessions which give tonnes of spoilers on the film (if you're into this). Also they're going to be making the clone wars cartoons available on hyperspace with extra commentaries from the director. It's only a quid a month or so, so won't break the bank (although if u read some messageboards you'd think they were asking fans to sell their grandmother to pay for it judging by some of the reactions)
I signed up as soon as they announced it - always been a fan and thought what the hell - it cost just under £13 quid and I thought it's not bad for just over a quid a month.
They have just announced that the Clone Wars shorts will be going up on the site right after they are aired in the US for Hyperspace members.
I never really bothered with the webcam, doesn't appeal. There is a thread in the starwars.com forums which gives dates and times of the best moments.
The webcam is being bought back for post production too.
All in all, I think it is worth the money if you are a fan. You don't get charged too much and there is some good content. I think it will improve as the final film progresses towards completion.
Personally I think it's a bit much when Lucas decides to charge fans to access the latest stuff on EPIII on the website. :nono:
I'd class myself as a Star Wars nut and I was not impressed by it at all. All those millions they've made on these films, not to mention the merchandising and still they want to cream a bit more dosh off the fans.
I'll save myself the $28 and use it to pay for my cinema ticket thank you. ;)

As I posted in the other thread - not only will the clone wars toons be availible, they will also come with audio commentary.
I am a member and the set diaries are so good.
Cannot wait for the commentaries on The Clone Wars

I shared the cost with someone else, and it's been OK so far - though I missed the production cam. Apparently video making of'a are due fairly soon.
It's not bad - but needs a bit more video to make it worth the money.
Impressive array of never seen before photos though - including the holiday special - maybe we'll see excerpts of this on the DVDs?

I've been a member since the start and at first it was great. It has really tailed off since shooting wrapped though.
I'd think twice about renewing next year unless they have something really interesting planned...
