View Full Version : Ninja Scroll - please help
I am looking for Ninja Scroll on DVD, uncut and in it's original language with English subs, is the R1 version dubbed? If so where can I get it like I want it? Thanks
The US version has both the Japanese and a dubbed English soundtrack. It also has English subtitles, plus a pretty nice picture as well. It's also uncut, but unfortunately there aren't many extras. But aside from that it's a pretty good DVD of a very good film, go for it.
Hope that helped. :)
Indeed you did, cheers
Looks like this is going for a decent price at DVD Box Office too ;)
But!
Manga buggered up the authoring on the disc (R1), on my version the main menu wont load on my dvd player down stairs, but on me PS2 it plays fine, and it is a known problem, but to late to do anything, IIRC the un-buggered disc have a label on them or something, also the japanese audio track is the wronf way round, something happens on the right of the screen and the sound comes from the left speaker and vice versa, the english Dub is fine though.
So be warned, apart from that everything else is fine, to get around the main menu no loading (and it not crashing) just press Title or Menu on your remote and it bypasses it.
Were both these faults you mention on the same pressing and later corrected in a new pressing? In my copy there's no problem loading the menu (I've tried it on 3 different players plus a DVD-ROM) and couldn't say if there's anything wrong with the sound (probably because I was using a stereo TV as opposed to a DD setup).
I got mine from DVD Boxoffice as well, for about £13. It's probably even cheaper now.
Both the problems where on my disc, as i mentioned the menu problem may be player specific as it plays on me PS2 fine, "i think" it was fixed on later pressings but a cant say for sure, manga did have a thing where you could send the faulty disc back but that has long since expired, when i first got the dvd i had to send it back because it was a shaker and i put that down to it playing up, then i had to wait while it was re-ordered from the suppliers and the new disc was still faulty, and that was in apil this year, but i managed to get it to work.
I only noticed the sound when i hooked it up to my surround setup, but it is very annoying.
