Has anyone heard anything about a release date on DVD for the Channel 4 series "Teachers" from earlier in the year? I want this show on DVD!!
Why not contact C4 and ask them?
I wouldn't hold my breath, though. It was never a particularly popular series. I would imagine that if C4 has any plans at all to release it, it's right down the bottom of the priorities list.

Just because it wasn't popular doesn't mean it won't get a realease. IIRC Ultraviolet didn't do very well in the ratings but has received an excellent disc

How do you know it wasnt popular - because it didnt feature in the top10 list?
I enjoyed the series, although I probably wouldnt buy it on DVD, in fact the only 2 TV series I would contemplate buying are the simpsons and the sopranos....maybe alan partridge, so that makes 3 - I never could count.
Still...I wouldve done Jenny ANY TIME :)

If you care to check my original posting, I said "not particularly popular", which is absolutely true. It never rated very well, but of course that doesn't mean that the small audience that watched it didn't enjoy it.
Given that C4 DVD releases are still very much in their infancy, the company is far more likely to be putting out near-guaranteed good sellers than stuff like Teachers.
However, you never know - so why not simply contact C4 directly and ask them? A radical suggestion, I know, but hey - I'm a radical kinda guy... ;)

You still havent answered my question - How do you know that it wasnt popular? I'd like to know where you have the statistics on viewer figures as I would like to look at them for some other programmes too.

It was popular enough for a second series to be commissioned. I liked it.

Erm, yes, but Maggie? What about MAGGIE??? ;)
Anyway, I tried the C4 website before I posted this thread and it crashed my browser. I'll try again later I guess.
They obviously thought enough of it to release a soundtrack album to the series...and I'm glad I'm not alone. :)

Eh? I'm pretty sure this show was a success. Don't forget it was bradcast on CH4 at 11p.m, so I don't think the network expected it to get 10million+ viewers.
I think Teachers is the best U.K series shown so far this year.

Nice one...
11pm??? It's on here 9.30pm Tuesdays, and a lot of folk think that's a little late! I have no idea how it's rating here, but again, it works for me, and I teach! :)

I'm pretty sure it was on pretty late here in the U.K, either 10p.m or 11p.m, with a repeat showing at some ungodly hour like 1a.m later on in the week.

Not as easy as you might think as I am still trying to find when/if they are going to show the 'missing' episode of NYPD Blue from the last series (Who Murders Sleeps) which was cancelled in the wake of the Sarah Payne murder.
They have no direct contact email and instead you are advised to post on the Channel Four forum where someone from the organisation will answer queries, or not, as the case maybe. There is a phone number but I've never had much luck getting through when I've tried.
