They may have won 9-8 on penalties.
But Arsenal had one player who refused to take a pen...........

They one 9-8 with Wiltord taking two pens!

Nope, since Rotherham had 10 players to take pens, Arsenal were only allowed a set 10 aswell.

You were a little too eager with this ;)

Was changed recently to stop the team with 10 players gaining an advantage in penalty shoot outs as their nominated penalty takers would have come round sooner.

it does make sense, just never thought about it. has this always been the case or is it a new(ish) change?

When a team finishes the match with a greater number of players than their opponents, they shall reduce their numbers to equate with that of their opponents and inform the referee of the name and number of each player excluded. The team captain has this responsibility.

Nor me, i was waiting for the panel to tell us the name of the lost little sheep to come from the shadows and stand in the light :D but unfortunately it went back round to Wiltord.

Just out of interest, was the Millers sub keeper, a keeper or an out field player?

Nope. how can the rules be paranoia?

This thread needs closing, it became pointless and stupid after the first post

no, no the paranoia reference was because richdmx believe that "Any excuse to slag off arsenal" was being used. whereas what was actually the case was that ramit (nor I, nor it seems some others) actually knew the rules in such a situation.

If it needs closing nsb, then put your mods hat on and do it, otherwise we'll just carry on.

My hat is on, can I close it ?

If you want to discuss the match then use the existing Arsenal thread.
