Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this?
I need to create a DVD of video material for sending to the US, with a Philips DVD Recorder.
Does this recorder flag any material recorded on it as R2 or is it R0? If it is R2, do they sell multiregion players in the US and are they as common as they are here?
Also do many US TV sets accept a PAL signal? As the material will obviously be PAL encoded.
Thanks for any help.

I don't think the disc will be region coded, but the problem will be that most TV's here do not support PAL, and most palyers do not convert PAL to NTSC (and the ones that do are either expensive or are useless!). Do you have or know someone with a PC based DVD burner? If so you could convert to NTSC on the PC and burn as NTSC.

Thanks, that may be the easiest solution. I will see what I can find out.

If you'd bought a Panasonic E50 that records in pure NTSC. But you'd need a player that outputted a pure converted NTSC signal as well, most el-cheapo supermaket machines do this.
