Kirsty & Leon ejected tonight.
Anyone, like me feel this was a bit harsh on Kirsty.
I thought she was quite talented. A few of the judges had given her glowing reports, although tonight they seemed to gang up on her.

Kirsty was all right in a :norty: kind of way, the rest where talentless cloned cack :oh-hum:
The odd thing was there I was wondering whatever happened to that Will bloke who won last year and he appeared.
Evidently managed to wangle a night off from that evening McDonalds shift job.
Will Young has a new album and single out toward the end of the year and will still do well in the charts ,I'm sure.!
Kirsty and Leon lost the public vote as they have dull personalitys,so the public didn't warm to them.
Mark (or is it with a "C"?) just scraped by as he had a poor choice of song.he isn't too great ,personality wise on the ITV 1 shows but he comes across well on ITV 2.
Michelle was very,very lucky as she looked awful and sounded worse.The public are still with her though,but she could be gone next week.
Michelle and Roxanne in the bottom two next week,with Roxanne to go....

I think Kirsty would a pretty good as an FHM girl.
Was Kirsty the one that sang first last night? If so I expected her to go but a bit surprised Leon went.
Kirsty just loved herself far too much to be healthy, so I was glad she got kicked out :clap: Was surprised that Leon went.
I think Susanne or Andy will win.

i think michelle should've went out instead of kirsty. She looked like she was wearing something that pauline quirke (spelling?) would've worn on birds of a feather about 10 years ago. Even the judges gave her a ragging.
I wouldn't be suprised if Chris won it, he's got that 'please mother me' look about him, that makes mums the world over wanna knit him jumpers, bake him cakes, and pick up their phones and vote for him. Bless him.

Susanne is very very good. She's about the only one I like at the minute.
Leon and Michelle should have went last night.
the pink and black outfit Michelle had on was a bad choice for her... get some sexy clothes girl and show off those boobs - you sing great.
Susanne sang her song her way and was fantastic. I voted for her last night
Andy was poor but can sing better
Kirsty was so up herself she needed to go
Leon is so sweet - they will nurture him and make him into something later - no NOT a blue peter puppet..

The other - big girl - sorry forgotton her name -- sings great but please try to stop doing a stage act like a musical as you are good.

As for Kirsty I miss the first 20mins of the show so didn't see it, but when she was voted out I felt sorry for her balling her eyes out.
I think Roxanne has a good chance as shes got a good voice and she young, so she can adapt to more differnet style.

Any of these can look good at the moment because they are singing their own favourite songs that they have sung for years and practiced in their bedrooms and on stage etc.. the nitty gritty comes when they have songs selected for them, thats when we'll see who the good singers are.
He may be a cry baby, but believe me, Mark IS the best singer in that bunch.
I would put my money on now.

Was very dissapointed and a little upset to see Kirsty being voted out on Saturday. She's a great singer, and she's darn fine looking too! Was looking forward to seeing her perform every week over the coming weeks.
I bet a bloke wins this years series again though, as the texting teenage girls vote on their mobiles.
Kirsty is a great singer - shame she chose to hide it on Saturday. Top 2 for me are Chris because I like his voice and I like how he throws himself almost awkwardly into his performance, and the gorgeous Susanne, who really has something. She's grrreat. :luv:

I like that one they call the vicar, he is so awkward and really makes me laugh. He seems like a nice guy and has a great voice so should be one of the favourites.

First time I've watched this drivel and I've got to say I feel sorry for Kirsty.
I feel she was a victim of the type of people who watch the show. Well obviously you say, but let me explain.
She was pretty, very pretty, nearly as hot as Roxy(16 bloomin' ek lock me up now)
So the girls who were watching will have not voted for her because they are jealous. I can imagine the larger ladies all voting for the two fat girls, as they will "want to show that you don't need to be a size 10 or below to make it."
The rest will vote for whichever one of the lads makes them the wettest.

Leon showed himself to be a one-trick pony this week and deserved to go, I too was looking forward to ogling at Kirsty in the coming weeks and felt there were far worse performances on the night.
I'll be glad when the big blonde woman (i can't stand the way she belts out soul numbers, there's something nausiating about it), Brian (souless, boring, talentless nothing) and Mark (the one that wasn't safe this week) get kicked off.
Oh don't get me wrong. Mark ( the crying one) has a fantastic voice, but plllllllleeeeeeeassssssseee stop the tears......

When then had the judges choice who they wanted back, was anyone here NOT surprised by who they chose... If you saw ITV2 they were 'homing'in on the favs....

I believe that Susanne is the judges fave.
They only picked Sam on the wildcard week as Susanne go the most votes from the public.This was emphasised when Simon said that that evenings show was only about one person - Susanne.

Why is he in pop idol?
People being Gay and others that do or have done soft drugs - like in Liberty X - well that is part of life now...
BUT beating someone up and stealing - that is no way a pop idol should be.
If I had a daughter I certainly would not want his picture on her wall, and this is what this is all about..
Pop idol is someone who not only can sing(hopefully sing at least) but who our kids admire and look up to.. and in some cases impersonate in behaviours.....
Or fancy.... girls want to love and boys will look up to this guy, if he wins........how sick will that be...

Err, the guy served his time and hasnt repeat offended, why should he be chucked out? If you read the story he didnt beat up the guy his mates did.......He did rob the house though.
Glad Brian has gone. His constant benile smiling was grating on me.
Mark R was a cocky little git - you could see he was gutted getting voted out. He thought he was better than he really was.:clap:

Didn't bother watching the results cos I thought the standard was so bad tonight - agree with other posters, only Roxanne and Andy were any good tonight, and maybe the first tubby lass. Whoever it was that did Imagine should have been taken outside and shot for his own sake, and I'd never heard the song that Irish fella sang - really do hope I never hear it ever again.
Unless the others vastly improve there's only Roxanne who looks like she could make something of herself to me.
Agreed with pretty much everything Cowell said tonight.
Does Foxy dislike anyone? And Pete Waterman gets more eccentric by the week - reckon he'll be full-on bonkers by the end of the series.
(and I'm not one of the snobby types who just goes around slating this type of programme - I do usually enjoy them!)

Chris is plodding along quietly, never giving in the best performance but never looking as if he might be eliminated. I'm confident he will make the last 4 at least.

When tehy have the lowest 3, is the person who stays. the one who got the 3rd lowest vote, or just picked at random.
Think tina, Andy and susanne will do well, Andy is my fave, but i don;t really think he can sing well, nor can susanne either.

He has so many odd ticks and mannerisms, he also talks like a disabled person. He seems a nice guy though but I'm sure he is hiding an disability

They're in the final 8 out of 20000 because the people voting for Pop Idol think they deserve to be there.

It's probably more due to the enjoyment of trying to put a spanner in the nicely oiled works of the pop idol production machine. but don't fear, the fat ones will fall by the wayside (it's been arranged) and the rentabland winner will go on to a succesful shelf life of 9 months in the pop industry.

I can't help thinking that there's a bit of mischief making by the viewers, by voting for the two ''larger'' girls. It was the same last year with Rik Waller. If he hadn't pulled out I reckon he would have made the top three.
I bet the company behind all this aren't too happy at the thought of either winning it.
I think there's not a lot of talent there this year. I'd say Susanne (v.poor last night); Roxanne or Andy is your best bet as a winner.

I so don't want Andy to win - he's had his 15 mins of fame already. He was in 3SL who had at least 2 hits (1 top ten) before being dropped by Sony, but not without trying to mobilise their teengirl fanbase :lol: to petition the record company to keep them on!
I saw Lisa Scott Lee doing a PA the other week (don't ask!) & she only dragged the drip on stage, to get the crowd to support him. He was with one of the Liberty X girls (his girlfriend) & she looked Dale Winton/David Dickinson orange!

I read somewhere that one of the `Pop Idol-Australia` contestants was booted off for going on a radio phone-in to lobby for his own votes.
Mind you, I thought that you couldn`t enter if you had a criminal conviction, so what do I know?:rolleyes:
You'd think so, wouldn't you? But it annoys me they allow someone who's already been a popstar (albeit briefly) to compete on the show.

Just seen the show. I thought very high standard. Great performances by Roxanne, Sam and Mark. The 'Elton John' theme worked very well.
Look like Kim and Michelle will survive.
Think it will be Chris to go, dreadful rendition of 'Circle of Life'. Susanne was poor but her style didn't suit the song.
Chris or Susanne to go IMO.

It was obvious Kim was going but Michelle was the Sun readers favourite this week and Roxanne had major positive comments.

Incredibly close. Strange that Chris is so high up there - he's actually proving to be not that versatile a singer. He shouts everywhere.

Yep. The logic is saying that tonight all chris' fans came out and hammered the redial buttom fearing for him. Also he must have got the sympathy vote for those people who didn't want him to be without any votes etc. Thus he romps it! And someone like roxanne who was pure class gets second bottom as everyone thinks she is safe and doesn't bother to vote for her! Odd thing this pop idol!

Bizarre result tonight, no way did Kim deserve to go.
I'm not a great fan of hers but she was very good tonight.
Seemed a bit strange after her performance that Pete went on about not knowing the song at all. I'm sure most people knew it.
Also, when the judges nominated their choices to be dumped both Pete and Simon plumped for Kim, although both had slaughtered Chris and Susanne's performances earlier. I reckon they must be given an indication whose for the chop.
Can't believe Roxanne was up for the chop, she was brilliant. Looks like she has no chance of winning as she has a smaller fan-base than the others. If she has a bad week, she'll be out.
The guy Chris was dreadful, so if he's managed to pick up the most votes this week I'd say he's got the best chance of winning.

Kim was poor and that finger waving with the shoulder shrug was end of the pier stuff (as S.C. would say). Good riddance ! But Michelle was streets ahead of anyone in terms of vocal talent when she actually got going: is she losing a leetle weight, as well ? Hard to tell, I suppose ;)

Thought she was average. She's also got a weirdness that is getting on my tits - she mouths "Oh" quite a lot, even on words that don't have an "oh" sound.
It's annoying.

This shows what a load of rubbish the whole competition is. There is no way a girl will ever win it just because the only people that vote are the teenage girls who vote for all the guys.
Roxanne's performance was excellent and she didn't deserve to be in the bottom two whereas Chris was terrible and he won it so people's votes obviously have nothing to do with the quality of performances. :brickwall
What is the point of having these large women on the show? No way are they pop idol material. Glad one is gone (should have happened a long time ago). Now get rid of the other one. Also, singing in front of Elton John. What's the big deal?

Was it just me or when Ant or Dec (I can't remember which is which) put his arm around Roxanne when she ws sobbing up on the stage, did a lad shout out from the crowd something like 'get your hands off her!'?
Roxanne is very good but no way I'll vote for her after that childish tearful "I'm going out" performance. Get a grip.

Her getting upset at the end will do her no good. It will just encourage people not to vote for her.

It's good entertainment, but yeah, they should have stuck to dropping TWO a week. Takes less time overall and makes better sense, and better paced TV. I mean last year the finals started with ten, and only lost 1 per week FFS.
Roxanne can sing but I don't think she shows any emotion in her singing.
Yes, someone like Chris actually put a lot of emotion into his performance for probably the first time and gets slated. He won't win it, but IMHO he did a lot better than Roxanne.
I think Andy will win.
I was well impressed with Andy's performance, I haven't rated him before. Chris was awful along with Suzanne. Couldn't believe Roxy was in the bottom three though.:eek:
So so so glad Brian, Marc and Kim are out.
EDIT: I meant I was well impressed with Mark's performance (who I haven't reckoned before), Andy was good but not as good as Mark
In two weeks time Susanne will turn it around with a stellar performance! :notworthy

I can't really understand the minds of the voters at all this year.
If it is young girls voting, wouldn't Andy be someone they would like to keep , or are they not voting for him due to his girlfriend/sister ?
Thought Andy was one of the better ones, best of a bad bunch if you want.
There seems no reason to keep watching this show. We're left with the odd one, the fat one, the vicary one, the crybaby spoilt brat, the carbon copy boy bander and the other one I can't remember.

Good job you ain't one of the judges then. I was surprised he went, however, it can't just be based on his looks, otherwise its just a beauty contest. Beauty Contest, the Rivals. :rolleyes: Whoever wins needs the whole package (Singing, looks, confidence, presence, etc) and Andy obviously doesn't have it, according to most of the British Public.

I was v disappointed andy went out :( I really hope chris leaves soon because I cringe every time i watch him- he really is awful! I must be in the minority who likes Suzanne, she's not really a pop idol though, more a "folk idol" - I think she sounds a bit like Beth Orton. Otherwise, I didn't like sam til this week but he has grown on me. The others i don't really mind either way, though I'd like mark to leave soon too.

I didn't really catch anyone's main performance, I got made to watch the result though. Have to say glad Andy was voted out, especially after I found out he's been in a naff boyband and is sister to her from Steps. Sorry if that sounds prejudiced.
I hope Suzanne wins. She's definitely the most endearing of the lot to me, she's got by far the most charismatic voice (and I love her voice too). It's just a shame she'd be wasted on such drivel that she'll no doubt be made to churn out.
And Kelly Clarkson or whatever her name is - naff tune, big arse, but what a voice!
I thought it was embarassing putting Kelly Clarkson on at the end, she showed the UK finalists up something rotten, really amazing voice.
As for suzanne, I don't think being on the verge of losing your voice the whole time constitutes a good voice. She's been awful for the last two weeks showing that she really can't do anything but sing slow numbers, she's showing herself to be a real one trick pony just like Leon was.
Don't get me started on Chris what an utter embarassment, I wish he'd stop pulling 'sultry' faces at the camera... somehow I just don't believe them.:D

Er, those two have more of the total package than Andy did. The crap the 3SL churned out proved that, and gave the public and hint of what was to come from him. He had a bad week and paid for it, some of the others did the same, but only 1 can go. It was him that walked. To say he should have won because he was the best looking was what I was getting at. That would have been so wrong. Its more about singing. Besides, the winner of pop idol doesn't have to be a pop singer, they could do any kind of music to bring the cash in. Look at Myleene, she is now doing classical and her new music ain't that bad. None of them have the whole package IMO, but Sam, Roxanne and Mark all have more of a whole package than Andy. Like I said, it would have been wrong for him to win just because he looks good.

Can't say, but I didn't know her that well. I used to go to the religious groups her parents ran - Devon Mustared seeds IIRC, and play in the Jazz Band too. My brother was in the same class as her at school :)

Didn't like Sam singing Joe Cocker's song last week but he was very good this week. I think Susanne's voice is weak as has been heard over the last few weeks and even tonight (supposedly her best shot with a backing band). She would do best with a whispering song, if there is one.
Michelle sings with a pronounced Scottish accent and that could well be a problem for non-Scots :) . She looked a lot slimmer tonight and also has a vulnerability that the others have lost.

I think whoever wins it from the 3 left now will be a flop - maybe even worse that No True Voice last year.

Sam looks like a sheep bummer, Mark is Butlins Boy and Michelle should start up a Weather Girls tribute band with the other heifer that got booted off a few weeks ago.
Andy should have won imo.

Fantastic I couldnt stand Sam. Then I really wanted that Susanne lass to do well. But I'm just glad Sams gone.
How can Mark still be in.
Every song he sings, he sings the same. Smiling.
He did a U2 song a few weeks ago. A downbeat song, (Do U2 do anything else) and he's grinning away.
Sometimes I despair of democracy.
OMG can't believe Sam's out! Still, I'm certain Simon will take him under his wing and give him a recording contract none the less. He's still a winner :)
Can't stand Mark, he is such a red-coat cabaret singer...demonstrated by his wish to put an R Kelly "woo" into "his" popidol single.:rolleyes: So, by process of elimination, Michelle to win! Can't wait for next week!

I like both Michelle and Mark. Michelle's personality has come out more each week and she seems a lovely lass. Mark does smile a lot but that's not a bad quality. He seems a genuine down to earth guy who can't believe he's got this far.

I noticed that too. Also a little later on, Nicky was saying that she couldn't comment etc etc, i'd say it's obvious Sam will be signed up :D

This has to be the biggest shock of the series. I was quite shocked last week when Chris was voted off and Mark stayed.
Sam has been one of my favourites thoughout the series - I think he has a great voice and (without sounding gay) is cute (in a record selling way).
I am glad Michelle is in the final, because it's about time someone who is not "the norm" has a shot at stardom.
I am no fan of Mark (AKA Scott Windsor from Emadale), but have a feeling he might win it next week. I hope I'm wrong, because Michelle has cost me a fortune in voting costs.
Since becoming single, I've got quite engrossed in this programme, which I can't usually stand - really sad, I know.
It's the first time I've watched Pop Idol Extra tonight, but I spent most of Sam's interview looking down Nicki Chapman's top - too much Vodka Redbull maybe, but she has a fine chest! :D

the shows a farce! Sam is the most talented one of them and i think deserved to win. I know he's probably going to get a record contract now anyway but it's stupid.
Sometimes you have to despair about some people i.e. who kept Suzanne in 'til a couple of weeks ago and who the hell kept Mark in?! he's one of the blandest singers i've ever heard
What did we expect.
You get the pop stars you deserve. Nice and bland.
The only winners are the people pocketing all the money raked in through text voting.
As far as I can see the producers of the show are pulling off a bank job right under our noses.
All they have to do is hire a TV studio and divert our attention with some bright lights and music.

At a guess, I'd say he has a digital terestrial TV decoder card in his PC, which will probably allow screenshot's to be taken.
Or maybe he is feeding the output from a Freeview/cable/sky box to the video in port on a graphics card.
Yeah, I've got a capture card (an old WinTV Go card - go to www.hauppauge.com for more info) feeding off one of the scart outputs on my digibox. Handy if you want to watch TV while you're working on the computer :)
I think the voting format is a joke tbh. Because you vote for the person you want to stay in it means people won't vote for someone if they think they are safe (just like happened with Javine in popstars last year). While I really don't like Sam he is far better than Mark. Whoever wins this year I think will be a flop and the last 3 are nowhere near the standard of Will, Gareth and Darius a couple of years ago.
I think that Andy (who I hated at the time) and Roxanne where the only ones that really had any "star" quality

Not surprised at all that Mark stayed in. Let's just say that a local legend (who could get people around here to jump off a cliff, if he asked) has been doing a bit of campaigning for him. :clap:

It was the 1st time I watched pop idol last night.
my opinions
Mark sang the best
Sam was out of sync in one of the songs he sang, they gave him the wrong type of song.
The fat girl was good, but sam would have def been a better finalist.
I thought Mark and sam should have been in the final.
I think Mark will win on his singing and his looks, lots of fan base, he also had a nice personality, wasn't keen on the fat girls personality.
Thats what I saw in one evening

lets be realistic, in the same way as Gareth gates was last years pop idol (regardless of who won) Sam will be this. How much have you heard of Gareth compared to Will since winning? Sam was the Judges favourite, & will get a contract, he wil be pushed, & the others will fade into obscurity.:ignore: Simon said last night Sam is a real "find" and the likely hood of them letting him go is zilch
