Normally I'd agree with you but this release was planned and announced before he died.

Was he burried or cremated, I hope it was the latter. Otherwise Johnny Cash - Unearthed sounds a bit unsavory.

BTW Mike Ness does a great version of track 1 "Long black veil"

This much delayed release finally dropped through my letterbox this morning :D and the packinaging is a thing of beauty although the CDs themseleves are housed in card casings so will be transferred to Jewel cases later.

Can't wait til I get a chance to give some of it a spin tonight. Anyone else got this yet?

Agree with GregB the packaging is superb. Along with the cd 'booklet' you get a separate book called Unearthed Text which contains stories surrounding Cash's working with Rick Rubin on the american recordings albums & a story around each of the songs.

Worth it for Cash & Joe Strummer dueting on Redemption Song

Weel I;ve been listening to this for 2 days now and it is a truely fantastic set. It is amazing that there is so much material from these recording sessions that were previously unreleased and it is a credit to Rick Rubin & Johnny himself that this has been released.
