Are these the guys based in Kings Langely? I visited them once as they sell R1 over the counter. FAR to expensive and they charge more if you get the title earlier than street date (think they charge postage as well!)! They do get stuff quick but that pricing is way off!

shops over here, whether online or on the high street, aren't going to be selling region 2 star wars discs until the official day of release, or any other disc for that matter (situations like getting them early from your mate who works for HMV, or running your own dvd business, notwithstanding). there would be legal penalties if they did.

hence the fact that it is the region 1 discs that are being discussed here. the overseas mail order stock is sent out in advance, ostensibly so as many people as possible can receive the disc on the 'street date'. however, once suppliers over here have the discs it isn't illegal for them to offload them straight away, and it is of course in their financial interest to do so. in the states though everyone (except those with advance copies - journalists etc.) is still waiting until next tuesday for their discs! and they have no chance of coaxing them out of any vendors early as the penalties for doing so over there are extremely severe (i.e. removal of trading licence).

I agree they are a little expensive but only if you order before the street date. Good thing is they get the stock very very early if your one of those who just can't wait.

Agree entirely. I use them when I'm feeling impatient. I've been doing so for years - for Laserdiscs before DVDs. Their customer service is second to none.

got mine today from futureent, ordered on tuesday afternoon. Not a fan of the film, but there's something nice about holding a star wars dvd in your hand.
