Does anybody know where to get a complete list of Something Wierd's DVD catalogue - I've tried their web page but can only get so far before I get an error message so any other link would be welcome - Thanks

Bloody Pit of Horror! The Crimson Executioner film on DVD?! Wow, were's me credit cards...

Anyone seen this who can vouch for the quality? (I'm not expecting the print to be up to much but I'd love to know if it's more or less complete.)

I was just reading Judgement of Tears (AKA Dracula Cha Cha Cha) by Kim Newman and thinking I needed to find a copy of this film again...

I haven't seen it myself, but here are a couple of review excerpts:

Mondo Digital's <A HREF="http://www.mondo-digital.com/bloodypit.html">review</A>:

<I>Something Weird's DVD offers the best of both worlds with a stunningly colorful print of Bloody Pit of Horror, perfectly letterboxed and in marvelous condition, with the extra trims included as a supplement. The sound on this film has never been outstanding, but its flaws may be more readily apparent on DVD where the constant layers of distorted recording and background hiss can pull away the trained ear from the pulpy dialogue and screaming. As eye candy, though, this really can't be beat. </I>

Digitally Obsessed's <A HREF="http://www.digitallyobsessed.com/showreview.php3?ID=642">review</A>:

<I>The image is much better than I've come to expect on Something Weird releases. Colors are crispand rich (though the red main titles appear a little oversaturated) and blacks are surprisingly decentfor a 1965 film. Reds and blues are vibrant and attractive. It's too bad that an anamorphic transferwasn't used to make this an even better picture. The source print is nearly flawless, other than reelchange burns and a couple of brief jitters. The color on the deleted scenes is less attractive, but it's nice to have them available at all.</I>

Thanks for the help guys - I've just been given a link to the image entertainment site by the guy who runs the TOMB OF DVD site - SW have 48 titles up for grabs so I guess it's time to crack open the Credit Card again and do so spending (even though i really shouldn't)

Thanks!

It seems the US version is edited by some 7 mins but these are included as "deleted scenes" and the print actually sounds better than expected. I'm quite jittery with anticipation... ; )
