I knew that the last episode wasn't the last

Not many details yet although ITV are running trailers for it, although I have missed them so far.

From Media Bullet:

A man's body is found in Denton canal, and Frost unravels a series of crimes involving blackmail, envy, and murder.

So like a normal day in Denton then ;)

Denton is up there with Midsomer, Oxford and Glasgow as a place where I would not like to live. Murder rate far too high!

Glad this is back, I thought there wouldn't be any more - they left it late to advertise it though as they usually do it weeks before.

Spoiler for previous episode:

I really thought the last one would be the final episode, considering Frost got the boot and all.

Thats what I thought, perhaps for some reason they are showing episode 2 and 3 round the wrong way for whatever reason.

I thought he was suspended and not actually chucked out of the police (he did say "I'll be back" at the end ;)

Great news that this is on

They've gone mad haven't they!?!?! ITV must surely know the following that Frost has and then they go and do this!!!

I bet there are a fair few who see Frost: in the TV listings and don't think twice that it could be a new episode.

Also heard the other day that the Only Fools 3rd and last absolutely the last spank my bottom till it goes red last episode will be shown at Christmas!

The horse is dead guys - stop flogging it!!!!

Apparently tonights episode is set seven months after the last one, and what happened to him at the end of the last episode will be explained.

I don't think it was one of the better episodes that there has been, the storyline just seemed stupid to me, especially the reason behind the killings. It still contained plenty of humour though, especially when he got the sweet stuck to his tooth and then at the end it was found that they were a dodgy batch.

I agree with Alan. It wasn't anything like as good as the last new one (with the paedophile). I found it to be disjointed and far fetched and the story with the dancer was a little pointless :cuckoo:

Are there going to be more?

Nooooooooooooooo, what are you saying?

That one was great - the guy was sooo creepy - he made my skin crawl. Granted the story wasn't particuarly original, but the acting was superb.

So how did they explain what happened after the end of the paedophile one?

It was ok with a few good moments but the ballroom dancing story was a bit poor.

The paedo got murdered in Prison, so couldn't give evidence, or so i presumed. Mullet said something along the lines of "That man's deatch in prison saved your bacon"

Find the other thread about it where it gets a bit of a slating from me and maybe one other.

The acting was awful.

"Ooh look there's a film of a school, ooh look he's stopped on that boy there, he must be his next victim, let's go get him!"

"Yes let's!"

and then last night:

The scene shows whatsit double glazing man from Emmerdale running a bath for his bludgeoning then the shot cuts to Frost bursting into the ballrooom to confront toupee man, immediately and I mean immediately cuts back to see dotty Delores DelMonte with statue in hand and Frost bursting through their door !!!!!! Now either Frost has a twin who gets explained Next Episode, he's driving an F1 car or the flat was upstairs from the ballroom!

Far fetched??? DHL won't courier from that far !!!!!

I took that as editing meant to heighten the tension in the scene, not some sort of super fast transport.

thought it was an ok episode but not one i'd like to be the last ever Frost

I can't see that episode being the last, I was reading somewhere last week that David Jason said as long as people kept watching then he had no problems with continuing.

that's good, i had come away from the last thread thinking that these were the last four or something. So it's just the last episode of the ones that have been filmed then.

This program is one of the last few decent ones on TV if you ask me.

Sometimes, the writers and actors need to leave at their peak. IMO only.

Ridiculous storyline.

Frost has jumped the shark. :(

I here what you are saying but I don't think that time has arrived just yet. Last nights episode was probably one of the worst Frost stories that there has been, the weak and poor storylines certainly didn't help. I think it might be time that there was no more made for a while to give the writers to come up with some better storylines.

Besides if Frost was to call it a day and perhaps Midsummer Murders coming to end what are we left with ?

Jacob
27-10-2003, 21:03
tbh if a new series (edit - I mean a brand new program I'd not seen before) was anything like as bad as the most recent Frost episodes I wouldn't watch it. I'm only watching Frost because I know how good it used to be and if it's not going to reach those standards again then I'd rather they just cancelled it.

Taggart is OK, but I find myself counting how many times they say "merrrderrr" in each episode now. But nothing else springs to mind, and it strikes me that there is a fantastic opportunity for a new writer to come out with a smashing detective series and make a killing.

There was that Glaswegian detective drama, (was it Rebus?) that looked promising, but that too seems to have died a death.

The only other alternatives are Waking the Dead and Silent Witness on BBC1.

I enjoyed it, agree that the ballroom dancing storyline was a bit pants though.

In fact, there's one bit that I didn't quite get, in a brain-switched-off kind of moment:

What was the deal with the fridges? Did the mad bint buy them and give them to the victims or something? "Here you go, just thought I'd buy you a second-hand fridge" - WTF?

to put the bodies in. She'd then order a new one and have the old ones taken away when the new one arrived - but of course the pick-up guy wouldn't have checked for contents would he !!! Another flaw

Pistol
28-10-2003, 13:51
But didn't they say that she bought two of the fridges at the same time - implying that she already planned to murder Mr. Fat Emmerdale Man even before losing the dancing comp? And wasn't there no fridge in the first victim's flat (hence no fridge delivery/pick up)?!?

Oh well....

Mr Dubby
28-10-2003, 14:21
Probably - just adding to the rumour that one episode of The Rubbadubbers has a more viable storyline than the latest from ATOF ! :oh-hum:

Choices Direct are saying that these are exclusive to them and I can't find them at any other online store.

I had no idea that they were releasing these at all.

I don't know, Alan. I got an email from them this morning about their offer and saying that they were exclusive to themselves. Looking at the TVTome website, the set seems to be the 1st season (3 episodes), so hopefully they will be releasing these in order from the beginning.

Oooh, looks good. Now that I have found employment I think I can afford to splash out on these.
