Hey all, I know how everyone likes to share/tell what new DVDs they're getting so I've decided to start this series of threads, one for each week, where we all can post what new releases we're buying this upcoming Tuesday. :D

Tuesday is the official VHS/DVD/CD/Everything release day in US. Most stores, like Tower Records and Virgin Megastore stay open for an extra hour on monday night from midnight to 1am to legally sell products. I guess in UK things come out on Monday?

1)Is the godfather set identical on both region 1 and 2(extras,sound,packaging etc)

All new UK releases do come out on Mondays (except in very rare cases), so in the case of simultaneous releases we do get them twenty-four hours in advance.

On a side note, I was under the impression that US/Region One release dates don't mean a thing to suppliers outside the US/Region One, so they are perfectly entitled to send out their DVDs to UK customers whenever they get them, be it two days or two weeks before they hit the shelves across the water. I assume this is the case (?)

For the record, I won't be buying any discs this week (or judging by the state of my bank balance for a few weeks to come!), not least because I picked up Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (R1), The Godfather (R1) Boxset and Life Of Brian (Criterion) yesterday! ;)

Should be getting Final Fantasy from them very soon too.

Yeah, looks like that's the case, as the suppliers do get DVDs a week or two in advance in most cases, just don't put them on shelves or ship in R1, but the rule doesnt apply to overseas contries.
