How long do they take Mmmmmm
Lets see. I stopped using them about a year ago as all my orders were taking yonks to apear.
Well I thought I would give them a shot again as I heard they were a lot faster.
My Lion king was sent 2 weeks ago and is still to apear.
Maybe its just me. Hope my Matrix and Indy dont take this long.
i got my lion king one week after it was posted

mine shipped from play
Interesting - on DVD Soon status page mine is still showing in "Packing" but is also listed under "shipped" with standard carrier but no tracking number - ship date shows as "packing" - does this just mean its still sat in packing or what ?! (never ordered from DVD Soon before....!)

That means it's still in packaging. Once you have received the shipping confirmation you'll see a tracking number and a shipped date.

Mines still in packing and has been for days. Ordered at the begining of the month so I don't know why someone who ordered after that has theirs shipped.

Yeah - got my shipping confirmation this morning. Do you get the confirmation on the day it ships or is the fact that its been packing for days simply mean its been shipped and just not updated on their system.
I take it nobody's actually received theirs yet then. Can't even get a response from their website to check the order status :(
:( Mine's also gone from Packing to Pending and then back to Packing which is where it still is! Pretty annoying really especially as I ordered it way back in July but plenty of people have had theirs shipped who ordered a week or two ago!!
Am usually the first on these forums to defend DVDSoon as they've always been brilliant with all my previous orders, but must admit that this episode has dimmed my view somewhat - especially as this is such a high profile release which I WANT NOW!!!

Well I always pre-order from DVDSoon and it's a little disheartening to hear that people who have pre-ordered well in advance seem to be penalised.
I um'ed and ah'ed about ordering this but did so on the 3rd October and it was shipped on the 11th October, so this time I win ;) But I hope they dont do the same with Alien Quadrilogy though, I ordered that at the $73 price aaaaaaaagggeeess ago :suspect:

All you guys still waiting for yours to ship but ordered well in advance should contact dvdsoon. I ordered something earlier in the year from them and was in packing over a week. After the seventh day I got fed up and rang them.
They told me that there was some problem with my order and that they would fix it. Also having worked in a call centre where customer orders are delt with it is easy for orders to get lost in the system if there is something wrong with them or if there is a software problem.
Anyone else's still stuck in Packaging hell?
Yep , we're celebrating our one week aniversary today, there's coffee and cake and balloons :)

I e-mailed them about this earlier today and they responded a short time ago. They said that they are changing shipping providers as of next week (for a faster service) and this has meant a back-log.
I also queried the labelling of packages having had a Sleeping Beauty go missing, no Lion King, no Notting Hill (sent 2nd October) and an I Spy missing earkier this year. They said 'Our development department will be creating a new shipping program which will remove this from the customs claim'. I assume this means they will not be labelling packages in the future (which is good as I was concerned about the Disney Treasures). Interestingly, in respect of the Lion King they also said 'We have verified and have confirmation that the Royal Post strike did cause a problem with the shipment as well as new Custom policies. We have been advised that England will now be checking the majority of the international shipments instead of the normal 10% as they did do once before. We do suggest that clients contact their customs office in the mean time as we have received complaints that they have not been contacted by customs and the parcel was returned. '
Thanks for that Gary. Does that mean then that nothing further will be shipped until next week? If so, it's still out of order that recent purchasers of the Indy set had theirs shipped whilst those who ordered months back are kept waiting! :oh-hum:
I got this reply to an e-mail I sent yesterday.
Dear Sir:
We apologize for the delay, we just changed shipping company. Everything is now in order and your parcel will ship in the next 24-48 hours. You will receive it shortly

Can you tell me what the delay with this order is as it has been packing for over a week now.
Thanks.
Finally !!
Just got confirmation (twice !) that it's shipped !
Now, knowing my luck, it'll get hit by customs !!

I don't think the Royal Mail will have the facilities to check every item that comes from abroad !
It would mean that they have to have 6 to 7 times the workforce doing it (even allowing for economies of scale).
Anyway, stuff like the Lion King would fall below the limit of £18.

Uridium, I did actually point out to them that I felt it should be first come first served, particularly as they take the money in advance. They didn't really respond to that point.
I have now got confirmation of Indy having shipped (along with four other titles that have built up over the last week - that lot won't really get me in trouble with the other half if they all turn up at once). Must say that apart from the delays attributed to Iraq and the titles mentioned in my previous post all my parcels have taken about 7 to 10 days so these new guys must be really fast.
I think I should also add that I have given Soon most of my buisness over the last year or so and so the number missing is relatively small compared to the number received.
Cheers Gary. Well - congrats to you other guys, mine's STILL in packaging, though they did manage to send out Charlie's Angels 2 to me yesterday.
I would also agree with what you said in that they are generally very, very good. This is the first order in 18 months that's caused me any grief - it's just a shame it's such a big release!

I actually got last week Thursday my shipping confirmation for Indy however it has not yet arrived, which is strange because all my previous orders have only taken 4 days. So hopefully it might be stuck in MT and will be here shortly.
All your previous DVDSoon orders took 4 days?

Well they've shipped star trek V (8 days after going into packing) but indy just sits there.
I've got a muddled reply to my shipping question (I also asked how long before they will chase a missing 1st class parcel), so I'm guessing it'll go out today .
Hey-ho - mine's still Packaging. Got this reply to an email I sent asking what was happening with it:
As of next week we have changed shipping providers for a faster service. Due to this we have a back log in a lot of our shipping. Also, we do not shipping on weekends and national holidays. Rest ensured that your product is on hand and is simply waiting to be shipped. We apologize for this delay.
I sent another one back asking how come people who ordered a week ago have had theirs shipped and why they're still shipping other products out now but not this boxset!

Did your indy's come with the normal posty or in the van. As the posty who delivers the letters has been 10 mins ago. But no indy popped through the door.
Mine arrived today too. Taken exactly 7 days to arrive. Be nice to finally see the movies in a decent widescreen ratio. :)
Ive received 2 copies today :cuckoo:
One from DVDSoon taking 7 days, the other one I had cancelled but has been sent from another company and they've charged me the higher price than when I first ordered it
Now to check my emails, CC statement, why arent things simple!
Did you go for std shipping (ie free) or the 1st class option? The only difference if the package goes missing seems to be the wait for a replacement 30 days instead of 45 or am I missing something else as I am thinking of placing the order but would rather not risk a missing parcel and a wait till Xmas to receive a new copy :( (not that I have any reason to be so pessamistic :D )
Nothing here for me yet. :(
Posted last Thursday on the 9th so haven't given up just yet! ;) Not like the missing 26th Sep discs.....

Mine arived this morning too! Posted last Saturday :D
Back of box is a bit damaged though, there's a paper bit stuck on with the details of the discs - like with the LOTR sets only this one is actually (lightly) glued and looks like it got damp at some point, so now just looks crappy. Decided to peel it off and now have glue residue on the box:(
Hopefully will be able to get it off, though there's also a "chipped" bit of box too - i.e. showing white paper.:(
Still at least I can sit down and watch Indy on DVD before most of the rest of the country  :D

My copy arrived from Soon this morning and, when I took it out of it's shrink-wrap, I noticed it had a paper thing wrapped around half of the slipcase...it seems to be stuck at the top and bottom but all loose and wrinkled at the back! Is this supposed to come off, I don't want to rip my box??!!

I'm curious, rfawley, is there a reason you would pre-order and therefore Pre-Pay for Alien Quadrilogy, when it has not yet been announced by the Studio. Are you concerned that there won't be enough available. It amazes me that anyone would pre-order that far in advance for a title that will be sold everywhere once it is actually announced.

Erm, isn't this the Indiana Jones boxset DVD Soon shipping thread?
Anyway, I suspect the reason for pre-ordering a DVD well in advance of its release date would be to take advantage of cheaper prices offered by some online retailers (ie DVD Soon) for pre-orders.

Does anyone know why these DVDSoon releases are taking so long to get here  Is it DVDSoon or our ever so reliable postal service.
As of the 22nd it will be 2 weeks from the day they claim that it shipped.

Anyway, I suspect the reason for pre-ordering a DVD well in advance of its release date would be to take advantage of cheaper prices offered by some online retailers (ie DVD Soon) for pre-orders.
I might agree, but in this case, no other site has posted a price because it hasn't been officially announced. So why give up your cash for a title that may in fact be cheaper somewhere else?

i preorder mine months ago and it cost me roughy £30 including shipping and i cant see any etailer matching taht price
It came down to price, pre-ordered at CAN $73.57 and now the price is CAN $93.98, so to me (and many other forum members who did the same at that point in time) saved £10.00 which is quite a lot. Plus with November/December being quite a busy couple of months both DVDs and GAMEs, Im glad Im not forking out a lot of money at once.
It's all down to personel preference, Im glad to take the risk and certainly wont regret it.

Thanks for the honest answer. Hopefully the actual street price won't be lower.
On another note, we (ThunderDVD.com) are looking at offering a special price on a DVD for DVDforum members only. We did this a few years back on the Traffic DVD and several hundred Forum members picked it up. We'd welcome any thoughts you may have on what the title should be. At some point, we'll launch the offer over in the bargain forum. Timing would be for a December/January release.

This is just a guess, and only concerns indy really, but I've found that if the orders packed in a box it can take up to a week longer to reach me than individual packets. It's not just dvdsoon as I've had this problem with dvdpacific as well.
My Indiana Boxset came in a box and it took 7 days which is quite average for DVDSoon.

Ordering it for £32.26 for 9 Disks seemed like a BARGAIN, we know that on the UK high street it would be price at something like at least £59.99 (probably more!).
For the cheapest at the moment, other companies selling the Region 1 version are selling it at £50.00 and the Region 2 is being sold by CD-WOW for £49.99.

Well Im sure that it would be most welcome, the common goal on here is to get DVDs as cheap as possible, whilst customer service and delivery also take high priorities.
Obviously you should mention (which Im sure you possibly have) to Colin and the other Admins and then get a new thread started like before.

Was in two minds about posting this - i'm not bragging or lying - I just thought I should point out that not all Indy's are taking that long.
Ordered 16th Oct, shipped 17th Oct and in my grubby hands this morning with a Mount Pleasant customs cleared stamp on it. Didn't pay for any fancy shipping either.

Just got my indy today from dvdsoon. I haven't ordered from them for a while, how long have they been including on the label what the contents are? This seems very dodgy to me as any of the people who handle the goods during the delivery could decide to steal it.

My Indy Boxset arrived from DVDSoon today, shipped on the 17th using standard free shipping.
Only problem was that I came home to find it sitting on my doorstep :nono: a quick word in the ear of my postie I think :D
(That'll be why I've not received my Simpsons S3 from the end of august then :| )
Shipped on the 11th - delivered today - you beauty!! I hope all those waiting get theirs soon!

Yep, just got my shipping confirmation
Hmmm - nothing again today. My first (and at this rate last !) order......looks like I may be referring to them as "DVDhopefully" rather than "DVDSoon" - their current name certainly isnt an apt one in my order's case !!

Indy shipped on the 11th October was sitting on my Doorstep this morning.

I have in my hand a piece of paper. It's from my postie and it tells me that they tried to deliver a parcel that was too big for my letterbox. Only one thing it could be :) (though the last time I thought that it wasn't a nice bulging box of discs but one of those ball things you use in the washing machine)
I'll get it tomorrow morning when the sorting office opens, just in time for me to go away for the weekend (best take the laptop then).

Yay - my saga has also come to an end as well!! After a week of mucking about my Indy set was shipped last Friday and arrived today :)
Yay - my saga has also (hopefully) just come to an end too.....but in a slightly different way !
My 2 cats have an annoying habit of "greeting" the post and picking it up from the door. They then carry it off and leave it around the house.....and I just found a "parcel too big to leave" Royal Mail docket under the bed from 20th October lol !!!
So Im off to pick it up 1st thing in the morning !
I'd sort out those cats if I were you :D
lol jayok........yes, this has been said a number of times, but they are just sooooo damned cute !!!
Outstanding - shipped 22nd October, in my hands on the 27th October. Unbelievable shipping times from Canada and being a boxset as well!!!!

I ordered a few titles at the same time, 3 have been "packaging" for a week now and the others are not out yet (LOTR:TTT etc). Does this mean they'll all ship at once in december???

I wonder if that is my problem. I had an order with 3 titles : Indy, Animal House, and The Hulk. The order screen says that Indy and animal house were posted on 8th Oct. but The Hulk is still waiting to be processed.
i wonder if i will get all 3 together as i can't remember if i ticked any partial shipped option whe ordering ?:suspect:

yeah I have Indy, Lion King and Animal House packing (for a week), and the other 6 still un-released. Still would make chirstmas exciting to get LOTR, POTC, Indy, Alien Quad and Bad Boys Box Sets all on the same day

I had emailed dvdsoon to ask about my package ( oo-er ) and they said that i should check with customs.
Does anyone know how long things take to get through customs and what would be the best route to contact them ?
Cheers.

They have seemingly improved shipping times which is great to see - wonder how much faster the paid for shipping is!?
