Been looking at various plasmas over the past week or so, and this one seems to be underpriced (for a plasma :)) for the kind of specification it has.

Unlike the panasonic 6 series (which can be bought for a similar 3k online), this is a TV (ie has a tuner), has a higher resolution panel (1024x1024 pixels), and an breakoutbox covers all the socketry you could need (three SCARTS - two RGB, Progressive Scan Component input, VGA input).

The contrast levels aren't as good as the Panny though (although a demo would confirm how much of a problem that could be).

Anyone has an experience of this model, and any opinions of it? I understand its currently on undersale at John Lewis for £3000 including a 5 year plasma warranty (currently about £1200 at Dixons - the warranty alone that is!!).

I've been looking at this one too. There's a useful thread over on the avforums (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=91523)

I'm a bit concerned (after reading various threads at avforums) about this being an ALiS plasma, ie an interlaced panel.

Apparently the ALiS panels only light every alternate row of pixels every electrode refresh, so those with good eyesight could spot flicker.

Plus, it seems that progressive scan output is effectively of little use anyway, as the end result is an interlaced display.
