call you disabled bike and jump on a shuttle or starport to a different starport (the destination has to be a starport)

when you arrive store you bike from the datapad and regen a new one :thumbs:

Does anyone still play on Farstar in here? I've stuck with it because I'm in a strong guild and I didn't really want to start again.

Amusing story from last night...after a huge raid on Reb bases on Naboo the night before, a Reb Guild called RD declared war on us (SIN, from Dragon City on Tat). Woohoo, I thought, some excitement! However, our illustrious leader decided to declare war on RRD, who, obviously, weren't too happy. Especially seeing as they are Imp too, and hadn't got a clue why we were being so aggressive!

Must have been the shortest war in history, and RD must thinkwe're right chickens! Oh well, maybe later.

Don't forget the fantastic battle plan of 40 of us gathering outiside Coronet starport the laggiest part of the laggiest city on the server.

Result was that people going about their business just saw a gang of idiots with AT-ST's increasing he lag for no good reason. Did nothing but bad for the name of Valour.

was pretty funny in coro, you get to really see how moronic some players can be (in this case covert rebels).

i quite enjoyed last night- we was holding out ok until more of tsa and a wad load of ukrm showed up. i died once during that main battle (right at the end)- set on fire 4 times, survived them all (minus the 899/900 health wounds :lol: )

got to beat two shades of poo into some 'expert bounty hunter' tka stylee :D dizzy kd, flamesingle2, unarmedhit2 * 50 = one dead buffed BH (sorry audiobi :p )

was a losing fight either way but was quite fun (minus the bunch of commandos/tka camping fort knox shuttle port after :/ )

I do believe PvP is the only way to go to make the game last. Everything else gets boring in the end imo, but fighting against other people is always different. After doing some overt rebel missions about 10 of us decided to attack the imperial base on Dantooine, we killed the AT-STs and a quite a few players, when about 20 overt imperials stormed out of the base. Was great fun even though we all died eventually, a bit silly to attack somewhere where the opposite faction can go overt and you can't, after dying :nuts:

I am going to take this up with Lazyx and forgetitbar, they 'organised' an event and had zero plans, I got lumbered with runnig a group, was given no remit on what to do etc and when, all I was told was NOT to attack rebel bases, thankfully i had a voice whipsering nito my ear (Flubbi) to go to Anchorhead, after 2 hours fo nothing he tells them...OMG i couldn't believe it, I know why he did it (In the vain hope noone will ever touch our precious city) but he was plain wrong on all levels.

If the advertised an organised event they should organise it, or at least give us notice to

NEVER tell them we are coming, we all spent a fortune on tickets and our time to do last night only to be totally massacred (Gloss it up all you want but we got whooped good and proper).

Will say one good thing about BH the 8k bounties at inv 1. I made about 40k just doing missions within 1k yesterday. Although, form what I understand, I can kiss tha goodbye as soon as I level in the tree. :cry:

Just got doctor crafting 3 there, now 4-4-4-3 doctor & 0-3-4-3 TK (altho I will be 0-4-4-3 shortly after i go back on, just signed out to grab some food).

I miss Galco :( hurry up & come back, Bezz is a rubbish bodyguard :P

Yup it was, Bubba tried to get me removed form guild because of it, in the end he left instead, Bubba is RL friend of Forgetitbar and I was subject to several hours of questioning/accusations over nothing, have to say in their defence though it was sorted out fairly and all sides listened to, whether it should have been made into an issue is another question entirely.

Yeah it was that dancer/doctor girl. The way it was handled after was like a witch hunt. If you remember on the night. Audiobi and myself had to leave the group and then subjected to interrigation (well Audiobi was! i just was a witness).

To be fair to LazyX he did say that we didn't do anything wrong. Just I didn't like the way we were being talked to , lectured like naughty boys, or at least that's how I felt about it. Still it could of been the vodka haze that made me feel that way :nuts:

Just one tip: Join the rebel alliance, get a big gun, go overt and blow up any AT-STs you see :nuts:
Chimaera is the server you want, probably best to start on Naboo or Corellia (though I don't think you can start on the main cities of Theed and Coronet). Do a few easy missions to start off and get all the novice skills to try out (they only cost 100 each).

Europe- Chimeara is the server most of us are on.

And yes it will work with firewalls, i run it with ZoneAlarm, but make sure you check that it still has access after updates.

You'll all be them same when you get one.....they take too long to grind the FP for, and are far too valuable for getting those all important high value mission's for, if you want to solo.

i think they are getting a fix- better resists to fire and with the commando fix for flame dot stacking they should be a lot better to use in pvp

TKA's are effective at close range, but as a Master Rifleman I can take them down easily from 30m+.

My Jinko character will be a Master Smuggler/TKM/Pistoleer , so I should be relatively effective no matter what range I'm at. Still a ways to go before Jinko is ready to PvP though.

Cheers, doesn't quite seem worth it (along with doing the missions for the people with the little blue marks).

On the other hand joining a pretty experienced group to do Squill hunts when I'm there with Rifles 2, 2H 3 and no armour was cool.

Made packs of experience in such a short time. Especially good as nobody wanted Scout experience so I got all the meet and Explo 3 and 4 in a couple of hours :-)

BTW Valor guys, I went to LOK last night and checked out the KDS guild (Keepers of the DarkSide), was very impressed, appears to be well organised, wont allow kiddies in and have rules etc, town is well laid out and there were docotrs to buff about as well as a mind buffing bot. Approx 120 members

KDS don't have a great reputation, not that I've had any problems with them or that, that means a lot.
I'm very surprised that valor don't have an entertainer on automatic buff :confused:

They have a forum for applications but not a true website, I spoke at length to one of their people, cant recall name at mo, was very friendly and asked good questions (about my age etc).


VALOR has absolutely nothing, you can beg (I mean paying)morning noon and night for a buff and will be ignored 100%, VERY rare for a dancer in cantina either.

They are role players though, so expect to do some army exercises etc to get in, looke dlike a lot of fun.


How have the got a bad rep. BTW? I haven't heard a lot about them but did like what I saw last night

You may laugh but it was squad training that I saw( And yes they had to sit prone kneel as ordered), they give rank based on merit to guild members and your expected to salute etc, thought it was a neat idea as the role playing part of SWG doesnt happen a lot, other neat things i noticed where a few dressed in imperial unfirms as stomries and officers etc, made it much more star warsy to me.

Other positive points are that the hunting is great close by, VERY hard missions and stuff, I hit the dirt a few times fully buffed but you live and learn i guess

Well they would have to be prepared to take alot of us, if the other guys wanted to leave too. This of course is upto to the others, but just a thought, may aswell try and get as many Valor DVDF members in at the same time, if other people are unhappy with Valor as I am that is. Although I only think it was you and I though (audiobi) that were at the wrong end of the (expletive) stick that night.

I'll have to talk with the leaders of valor first though when i get back on SWG, before i make my mind up though

We could always of course form are own Guild and town on LOK. If we get everyone together, who are prepared to do some hard work and donate cash and buildings, I am sure it would be much more satisfying, then we could always use the KDS imp base for missions :thumbs:

I am not attempting to lead a mass exodus from Valor here, i just don't feel comfortable with the current leadership, I have had 2 run ins now (Jimmy and Babba) and that has tainted my thoughts, Forgetitbar and LazyX only ever talk to me if they need something, Danga and Cena are very elitist to, some of the guys are great in the guild but the leaders don't cut it in my opinion.

MikeB mate, I know were your coming from totally, and i have had my shares of them problems too, that is why I too am looking for alternative's.

The point I was making for the other people is that the door should be open for them too if they want to leave also and follow us to another guild, not saying we are worth following, mind, not really getting my point across well here, but I am sure you know what i mean. They of course have their own minds.

I am not sure if I really want to join another guild though, the way i see it at the moment is though apart from having guild chat, there are no benefits of being in Valor guild, and that isn't right imho. I was happy with it. But that was because of you guys mainly, and these forums, were we could discuss and group in game, it would of been a lonely experience otherwise, unless things have changed drastically in Valor since i have been without BB in newcastle.

I am leaning more and more to the idea we should make a DVDForums town on lok.

While I'm all for the DVD Forums Town idea, you need a lot of people and a lot of resources to make it happen. My first guild on Bria during Beta and subsequently on Eclipse fell apart for precisely that reason.

Yup that sounds a bit rediculous to me too.
They have a reputation of taking it too serious and being bad losers. Not the sort of guild I'd like to be involved with, but some people like it like that and it usually means better organisation.
It's a shame you're all imps, cos you'd like the guild I'm in. Free beer, curry and sheep all round. Also some of the best doc buffs in the business, master smugglers always available and a male musician to buff you when needed :nuts:

Main town on Naboo is Theed, you'll find plenty there, on Corellia go to Coronet.

Be warned that Coronet is extremely laggy unless you have 1 gig of ram

i approched valor just after i 1st started and was told to get lost
unless i would just about slave away for one of them (fetching stuff etc) im now guilded on tatooine and they are a nice bunch (always willing to help) But if the dvd forums had its own guild town i think it would be an ace idea as long as everyone played

thats my take on SWG as well, I like to chat and group occaisonalyl but on the whole I play as a bounty hunter for a reaosn, I like to wander off alone and go for it, I don't ever want to feel that I have to do something like crafting etc

Yes.
A smugler who is a rebel general can buy faction points at the approximate cost of 10k cr for a 100.
So it would cost you 350k cr, plus any profit the smugler may want.
I'm sure if you wanted to join a rebel guild they would do it at cost ;)

going to do dancer and musician as they can be done afk and then get on with some other easy professions like squad leader/TKM etc

Corellia was terrible yesterday on Chimera, other planets were fine. It's not like there was a huge amount of people logged on (the starport area wasn't that busy), so it must just be the huge amount of houses, harvesters and bazaar items giving the database problems.

I can't get over how powerful Riflemen are. I raided Crystal last night with two Master Riflemen and they literally destroyed every single NPC in about 2 secs using AOE specials. Then when player re-inforcements arrived they were picking them off like they were Durnis! :eek:

commando has been fixed. no more flame dot stacking, reduced dot and thats about it i think. its a fair fix, the incap/burn/getup/burn/incap cycle was pretty bad and not intended to happen.

I agree....it is not worth using any of the other weapons I can use, because they cannot produce the same hit.

I can hit for 9k with flame2, thats the initail attack, then the burn starts :nuts:

I was in the KDS town, saw that we had 15 rebs on the way in guild chat and shouted for help, simple as that and nothing to get worked up over, the KDS guys were great and turned up en masse to help out .

KDS are an IMP guild on LOK, seem a good bunch and have stuff MUCH better worked out than LAzy and Forgetitbar do from my first impressions

Yup the chef revamp is bad imo.
You'll end up having people running around shooting each other with nothing happening. They'll be buffed by docs, entertainers, spices and food.
Expect a chef nerf in the next patch, it's exactly what they did to bio engineers.
Anyone know if you can feed the chef foods to a pet? A rancor fed with a 5 resist attack or a large HAM boost might actually be able to stand up to an AT-ST :nuts:

Boy am i glad I discovered that I could tame any lvl BE pet last night, i tamed a bol and razor cat, and today in the patch they fixed it but i can still call them.

Another thing that annoys me about this guild is no one ever seems to want to go hunting, sure we have our forum group, but often I ask does anyone want to go hunting, or are there any groups and rarely anyone responds. The only time I ever see another guild member is when rebels start attacking NV.

Couple of questions.

1 How do you get combat XP in large amounts ? I have only 16,000 and need something like 40,000 to progress to novice bounty hunter whereas I am getting stacks of weapon xp.

2 Taming pets. So far I have tamed carrion spat and a padelo or somehthing. Do I have to keep taming babys like this so then I can tame somehting that will attack when I choose attack from th e radial. Or should I be able to attack already ?

1. No real way to get combat exp in large amounts, you just have to fight and let it build up, i think the more damage you do the more combat exp you get.

2. Once you tame a baby, you have to train them in commands such as attack,stay,follow. You can do this by right clicking on them to bring on the radial menu when they are out of the datapad.

You just target something and then tell the pet to attack. You have to train the pet a "word" for each command.
Click on your pet and hit train attack. Then type attack in spatial.
Everytime you now type attack in spatial your pet will attack your target (if it can). You can also use the command /tellpet attack, to both train your pet and tell it what to do. This is better as you're not spamming spatial and looking like a newb all the time. However single letters will not work with /tellpet! You could use "at", but not "a".

I saw you in the Mos Eisley cantina! My character on this server is Jinko Dash and I gave you a Republic Blaster to replace the CDEF pistol you started with. If I'd known you were a forumite I'd have tipped you some cash and given you a vehicle too.

You can get loads of combat exp if you have a bleed shot of some type, a pack full of grenades and a handy harvester near a sharn lair.

Pop a sharn with the bleed once, then immediately unequip your weapon and leg it to the other side of the harvester and back away out of the sharn's range (it's a dopy animal so won't think to come around). Then lob grenades at it.

As long as you never shoot it with your gun except for the bleed shot, you'll get 4k combat exp :thumbs:

Oh and Stormer, you're discrediting the image of MMORPGs. I think you should stop having those self portraits on the same page as your SWG screenies - far too attractive for this lark ;)

Pop a sharn with the bleed once, then immediately unequip your weapon and leg it to the other side of the harvester and back away out of the sharn's range (it's a dopy animal so won't think to come around). Then lob grenades at it.

As long as you never shoot it with your gun except for the bleed shot, you'll get 4k combat exp :thumbs:

the imp crackdown isnt as heavy as i was expecting, but my encounters so far have been pretty cool. first time was an ST bursting into coro cantina shouting he can smell rebels and starting to scan people the second time was a random probot scan while i was riding my bike...

suddenely got kicked of my bike and a probot came up to me- got some message about scanning me for contraband for the empire and to hold still- just as this happens some slice hounds agro me- as imps do, the probot started shooting the stupid dogs. cue probot getting beaten up and destoryed. next thing i know a massive ship flys in and drops a bunch of troopers off :clap:

Server came back up yesterday and there have been a few changes, apart from a few bugfixes in the UI ect and the chef class been redesigned from scratch things are getting back to normal

The big change been that DoT attacks (Bleed ect) Are no longer stackable, so if one person bleeds a creature no-one eles can till it wears off :(

You can now milk creatures (You need mask scent) I manged to milk a few Sharf's on Coront for wild milk which chefs need for some new food mixes

Since Im a BH not much has been changed execpt a few new recipies in the crafting unit for example a new flavor enhancer that has an optional requirment for an "Secret Research Data"

As for the Imperial crackdown.. Well cantinas are VERY lagged and getting mind wounds heals are a real PITA as Imperial PvP'ers keep marching in and opening fire before getting slaugthered..

Oh, And you can now have Master Artistans paint your vechicals with the correct tools.. I think I saw people charging about 3k and the Blue speeders look pretty cool

Thats all the changes I've noticed so far, there is a large log of them but I cant access it here (blocked)

I love this game, but I hate it as well.

It is driving me crazy that they are overcomplicating things when it comes to crafting. I got to org chem 4 in medic, and i thought "Great! Now i can make stim Cs with advanced components!"

What a suprise, if i want to get decent resources to craft my stims, I will need to set up about 6 harvesters each on a different planet to get what i need, its either that or i buy from the bazaar for extremely high prices.

If I want to set up factories and go survey for good spots I will need artisan, i just don't have enough skill points left to start that, i have 24 left and i still have many other professions to go through, i will need to buy.

As usual the guild don't seem to be much help, no one seems to know of a good vendor that will sell med resources for a decent price.

So once again I ask you forumites for help, does anyone either know a good med resource vendor, OR help me look for some good harvester spots and set them up. I would imagine this may take a while, i don't know how surveying works.

What other skills have you got points in that mean you can't have at least Survey 3?

I'd imagine you've got a few scouting skills you can drop as they climb so quickly through harvesting on Sharn or Rancor trips for starters.

I've got Master Marksman, 4-2-0-2 Rifleman, 2-0-1-0 Armoursmith, 1-1-1-3 Medic, 1-0-3-4 Scout, 4-1-0-3 Artisan and still have 13 points kicking about :)

I have 22 skill points left.

At first I was going to go TKM.

Then I saw how powerful Commandoes were in our group so I headed towards that (already had unarmed 4). Then I decided I would like better heals so I went medic, then I decided I would like pets so i can go higher lvl missions without a group.

Then I was thinking, this is not good, our forum group is so reliant upon stormer that if she does not come along, we generally are a bit crap.

I would love to have revive, but I thought if I go CM then I can area stim, and also poison/disease in PvP.

The problem now is that I am hearing that CM's poisons/disease are not that powerful until up to MCM. I know I could always go and BUY other people's stims etc but to me the whole point of being a medic/doc/cm is making them yourself!

Then I came across the problem of securing resources which means taking up artisan so I can survey myself. (What should I train survey up to?)

I am weary of becoming a profession such as TKA that everyone says is on the way to being nerfed.

This is the problem, I want to be everything, I don't like all the choice at least in something like EQ you could only be one class.

Unless you're going for BH you don't need all that marksman and if you're going for TKM then you can safely drop the lot. You can drop the wilderness from your scout skills too.

I was working on the marksman because I was thinking of going commando.

To put it bluntly, I was to find a combo that allows me to be an asset to the guild/group but also allow me to kick arse against monsters (being able to solo when I can't find a group) but also own in PvP.

When I first started along the path of TKA, I was getting my arse kicked because i would just get eye shot spammed or whatever, or bezz would only need to use one flame special on me to kill me.

its tough to get a template you want- everything is handy but you need to make a compromise- if you want to make you're own stims you will need to lose something to be able to do it alone etc.. :(

i was going to go master tka/commando- to do that i would need to lose all of scout + pretty much all of medic minus novice and two I skills- i could never make do without scout (exploration) and at least first aid IV + diag II so no master commando for me

i was just lying in bed thinking, then it hit me.

TKM/MCM

Stick it into the character builder....nope not enough as i would need to train in ranged as well.

I heard alot of good things about TKM/MD and i still have lots of points left to stick into something else like survey.

I guess if i wanted to be a master something with MCM it would have to be a gun prof....but then once again i dont have enough skills to get survey.

Ideally I just wanted to be able to solo, which is why i went with CH but if i can heal myself in 1 pop then thats just as good :) Also i heard pets are not that useful in PvP....shame it looks like im going to drop it 2 days after getting it as my pets were just starting to get big.

Went to bed again, had another thought. What gives us the most downtime after dying? Waiting for mind to heal, well CM can heal mind, but i get wounds when i do. If i had meditate 4, i can regen my wounds anyway so that would be good!

Then i went back to the char builder, remembered i needed scout for harvest, artisan for survey, marksman for ranged, medic.....and what a suprise i dont have many points left again :nuts:

I could save at least 20 skill points if i did not need scout, perhaps when we go on hunts, some of you scouts can share the meat between stormer and I. We need to find some high lvl scary herbivore creatures to kill!

Asking one of you to harvest some meat does not seem to take up quite as much time or effort as getting someone to travel with me to 5 planets surveying.

So i think this might be a good way to lead my character, i think tomorrow i will have a chat with a few CMs.

Btw a combat medic can't heal his/her own mind, but they are one of the most useful professions in PvP right now and I'd expect them to be "nerfed" before teras kasi.
Pets are pretty useless in PvP, they die quickly against other players, though they do make an ok AT-ST tank.
The game is deliberately designed, so you can't do everything with one character, meaning you have to rely on other people for help. Unfortunately it never really works like this, as most people just want to do combat. You can always pay for a second character :nuts:

The main thing that needs to be addressed is the defence stacking, good luck if you ever go up against a TKA/Fencer/Pistoleer who will dodge you 99% of the time. I thought it was going to be addressed in this patch but looks like that's another one for Publish 7.

I've just taken up Smuggler which I'm hoping to master. Whizzed through Spices I - IV last night in under a couple of hours macro-grinding Shadowpaw.

However, I haven't got a single locked container to start slicing with. Had 3 ages ago but gave them away... :cuckoo: Does anyone have any containers which they don't mind me practicing on, or know a good NPC to hunt to get a decent number of containers dropping?

Saber, what species are you? If human grind Faction points and buy an AT-ST, then use it to get high level missions, that what I wanted one for, no need for CH and you get your high level missions for solo play.

Or speak to Efour, I think he was selling them....not totally sure on this thou

I run into some massive things about Luxor on LOk yesterday, everything on the planet seems to have massive ham bars lol, makes hunting interesting and chalenging for sure.

Anyone else taken the step of moving HP and Action to near zero in order to maximize the blue bar?, i am seriosuly conseriding this, the availaibility of doctors is great but I still get nailed a lot thru mind damage.

Certainly my Willpower and Focus are maxed, my mind bar is pretty high, but I don't rely on buffs so I still need action and health to be decent

You don't need broadband mate, stick with the wonderful 56k dialup! You get enough time to make a brew every time you travel to a new starport! If everyone knew about this fantastic hidden feature from SoE nobody would bother with broadband!

Sod it, where's my 33.6k modem? That'd give me minutes to spare to nip round the chinese! :D

LOL....i'm not new to this game at all, no way would I attempt to even try and connect with a 56k modem. Besides i have moved home, don't have any ISP. (I'm at work atm)

If i get MCM, i will only be able to get to 3-3-3-2.

you could go combat med 44/0/4 and master tka. you would have to buy all your combat med stuff though- which isnt really a problem.
