Not over impressed with the new album and i'm one of the few that liked the last one.I only liked one track of the last album and didn't know there was a new one coming out and basically I just don't care anymore about UNKLE, Lavelle should just stick to designing trainers and T shirts these days as it seems to me it was the other people he collaborated with who had the talent

But I'm sure curiousity will get the better of me at some point and I'll get round to giving it a listen and I might be surprised

Well I've had a listen to the new album and I am surprised ... its brilliant much better than War Stories only thing missing is a track featuring Ian Brown :) I haven't stopped listening to it since I bought it on Sunday

The question is tho it it unwise to disagree with the former Arch Stanton when it comes to music :D

Smelling a bit of fleecing the fans, in true UNKLE style, two new releases are due in April.

EP and WDTNF Re-issue
UNKLE have been busy finishing material which will be released on April 4th 2011, as a five track EP entitled ‘Only The Lonely’. All the songs are new and are headed up by a collaboration with Nick Cave as well as the amazing Liela Moss (The Duke Spirit), long time UNKLE vocalist Gavin Clark and Rachel Fannan (ex Sleepy Sun). The EP is rounded off with a classic UNKLE instrumental.
The ‘Only The Lonely’ track listing is:
Money and Run (feat, Nick Cave)
The Dog Is Black (feat, Liela Moss)
Only The Lonely (dub)
Wash The Love Away (feat. Gavin Clark)
Sunday Song (feat. Rachel Fannan)

The EP release is closely followed by a full release of an extended version of 2010’s ‘Where Did The Night Fall – Another Night Out’ on 11 April. The new version has a bonus disc that is comprised of selected tracks from the last two EPs, plus a number of exclusive and rare tracks.
There will be a limited edition box set of the extended version of ‘Where Did The Night Fall – Another Night Out’. Last year’s limited edition was in silver, however the new version is in gold and features a fully re-worked 32 page booklet with new exclusive shots from the original photo shoot with Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones.
Both releases will of course be accompanied by UNKLE Live performing at London’s Brixon Academy on April 1st, a show that boasts support from The Duke Spirit as well as various special guest vocalists who will be performing throughout the night.

Probably go for the EP but give the extended version of the album a miss, As much as I love Where did the Night Fall I've never seen the value in all these re-releases by UNKLE

Saw an interview with James Lavelle the other day saying him and Shadow are thinking about collaborating again :D

Pabs from the band had just posted that the second disc on the album reissue is essentially 14 new tracks (a new album in his words)...

The new EP arrived this morning....loving the new tune with Nick Cave on vocals!

Small fact...Pabs from UNKLE is Nick Caves next door neighbour in Brighton!

Got the ep yesterday but only got a chance to listen to it today and I'm not a fan of Money and Run as it sounds like something off of War Stories which I'm not a fan of, Like the other 4 songs Sunday Song being my favourite I think

I have just discovered UNKLE.... So, what's on the list of prescribed listening? Started going through the thread but I think I need to start with Wikipedia as a bit of an idiot's guide.

Bought Another Night Out and really enjoying it (the original album and the bonus CD).

Just bought all the mainstream albums, EDIT for film mix and Redux (so the only one i'm missing is more stories). Also mopped up some bsides and bonus tracks from itunes - although no sign of buying a lie, dolphinarium or on the run.

Are there any other tracks / mixes /albums I should track down - not too fussed about remixes generally...

I know it's not entirely on topic, but I'm just listening to War Stories for the first time in ages (I thought it was a great album).

Half of the songs have the singer credited but a few don't. Does anyone know.... Price you pay Guy Garvey and Morning Rage the main singer from The Beta Band?

"Hold My Hand" – Richard File
"Restless" - Josh Homme
"Keys to the Kingdom" - Gavin Clark
"Price You Pay" – Richard File
"Burn My Shadow" - Ian Astbury
"Mayday" -The Duke Spirit
"Persons & Machinery" - Autolux
"Twilight" - 3D
"Morning Rage" – Richard File
"Lawless" – Richard File
"Broken" - Gavin Clark
"When Things Explode" - Ian Astbury

Think they're right :) Richard File was James Lavelle's musical partner for Never, Never Land and War Stories.

Awesome album by the way
