yes its another 'how to' question, as you may guess by some of my recent threads i have just ventured into my first hc set up, the senario is this...i have connected my tv to the 'tv' bit of my amp via the good old fashion red & white phono leads, back of the tele into the amp. press tv on the amp remote and the speakers just make noise, i have an ntl digital box going into the tele via a scart, it made sense to me that if i hook up the tv to the amp, my speakers make the noise the tv should. where oh where am i going wrong (my ntl box has no audio output that i can find, just ariel, scart & video scart)

hope you can help

Does your TV have a menu option to enable/disable the phono output and built in speakers?

not that im aware, it has an 'effect' option in the sound menu but that just changes mono to stereo through the tele

its a hitachi 28 wide/flat screen 28wf540n, i was messing with it today, i unplugged the ntl box scart and just went with the coax and it works fine through the amp just audio to audio but when the coax is out and the box goes into the tele via scart just noise!
wierd heh! oh well, something is better than nothing,
