ATT: Pioneer VSX-D811 Owners

If like me you have the above amp and have it set up for Dolby EX\DTS ES,And have been wondering why if you leave it in 6.1 Auto mode that if you play any Dolby 5.1EX DVD that the amp will not pick up the signal. And you Feel you have to leave it in 6.1 Fix mode to get the EX soundtrack.

Well i think times are changing My amp has always Picked up the DTS ES track first time every time in auto but never an EX track until now.

I just happen to come across the retail version of Harry potter Chamber of secrets and can now varify that the amp picked up the EX track in auto mode first time.

Is this now a new Trend to actually correct the EX 'Flag' problem on EX encoded DVD's or could this be just a one off.

Ok, I own this amp. The reason it does not pick up the EX tag when on auto is that not all discs have it. Harry Potter & Philosiphers Stone was DD-EX with flag but most discs aren't. DTS requires the flag to be there and so it is picked up. Personally I just leave on 6.1 Fix anyway as for 5.1 material it certainly doesn't degrade the quality.

The Pioneer is not the only amp with this, they all have this problem unless the flag is set AFAIK.

How can you say you got it "From a copy on the Internet" and then say you don't support piracy?

All i wanted to know was if it was out on rental yet.
