What was the last ep to be shown in the UK ??

I have seen 15 or so and the series is getting slowly better and better.

THey seem to have moved away from the season 1 freak of the week eps which is a good thing but the current trend can not last for long :suspect:

The structure of each episode seems the same. Interesting opening sequence that has potential, then a bit of investigating followed by a few assumptions out of the blue then the show gets wrapped up in the last 5min. i.e they catch the bad guy. Oh come on. :) :p :suspect:

I'll be really interested to see how this show pans out. It's to the point now where when Superman makes his eventual appearance in the proper costume, nobody will have any doubts as to who he is, least of all Lex Luthor.

People are already acknowledging the 16-year-old Clark as a regular saver of lives and seem to engage in a willing suspension of disbelief that a teenager is effectively performing miracles.

Speaking of samey I've seen about 6 episodes of smallville and something always happens with a car.

Someone either gets trapped in one, or crashes one, or drives off a bridge in one or a car gets blown up. This is based on all the episodes I've seen to date which I must admit isn't alot so I may just be catching all the ones where something happens involving a car.

When did Lana marry Pet, I miss something.

I always figured there was a strong bond with Clark and Lana, see Superman III, and various comics.

My girlfriend reckons Lan might go off with Lex (could this end with Lex and Clark developing rift) or will Clark and Lex be friends and Lex and Superman be enemies (remember Superman is based on these sorts of triangles, just as Batman is vigilante angst, guilt and loss all the nice fluffy stuff).

Its nice to see Clark not being a completely 4 eyed nerd (I wear glasses so I'm not trying to diss any of my blind forum fans out there). No disrespect to Christopher Reeve but his Clark Kent was just too much, Lois & Clark got the balance right.

To me Clark is the hero, Superman is just a PR image.

It is sort of wierd because in the comics Lana Lang was Clarks sole confidant and was the one who initially convinced him that he should use his powers to help people and to go to Metropolis, he sort of left her behind.

In this show everyone seems to be in on it, which does not make the show bad but is just.......different.

I didnt know there was a thread for this, every week it is usually at least entertaining, although obviously being a big geek I could do with less of the Dawsons Creek stuff and more of the Superman action, but it works so far.

Really looking forward to Christopher Reeve.

In the comics the only person who ever did know about his secret to my knowledge was Lana Lang, he kept his abilities completely hidden, but I suppose that would have made for some really boring television.

She was sort of like his childhood confidant and his first girlfriend and if I remember right it is Lana who persuades him to leave her and fight crime.

Season 1 is poor in my view, Season 2 is far better, Season 1 should just be renamed the metiorrocks of doom which affect some person and then clark saves the day but not before he gets some green stuff on him and his parents throw it away

Although there are exceptions, a few eps were good, but Season 2 is far better since its more character development based and tries not to use "RAR GREEN ROCKS OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" often =)

Season 1 was full of consistently good episodes. Admittedly, there are some excellent eps in Season 2, but there are also some terrible duds as well.

OK, so the finale has just been shown so we can talk about it now.

My question is:

Was Lex's Missus on the Take from Lionel after all then? Considering she had a wry smile on her face on the plane and the fact that she jumped leaving him to die.

Not sure about this season finale.

Although its was set up beautifully in the previous episode, (Joss Wheedon please note!) and certainly was a good cliffhanger, a lot of it seemed to push "big shocks" at the expense of plot logic.

Apart form a couple of duds, this Season has beenn much better than the first.


BTW: Does anybody else think Chloe is a stalking psycho-bitch ?

She seems totally obsessed with Clark even though he made it clear to her that only liked her as a friend and she's known for a long time how Lana and he feel about each other.

And : all she was concerned about was that Clark and Lana were "officially" seeing each other, and hadn't rushed over to tell her straight away.
I just wanted Clark to grab her and say "**** off you self-obssesed bitch ! its not all about you, you know ! :D

Her character has been getting on my nerves all season with her onstant wining, about "Oh it's not fair, I love him so much and he doesn't love me back! " Now, just because her "feelings" have been hurt, she's going to go out of her way to cause trouble for Clark, the person she supposedly "loves" so much, by teaming up with Lionel, What a completely self-obsessed selfish psycho- bitch. She's the "Glenn Close" of Smallville ! :lol:

I did have to laugh though at the way her transformation to full on "psycho villan" was signalled by her change to a very dodgy hairstyle ,in her, meeting with Lionel at the end :D

Talking of Luthor's, what about Lex :eek:

I reckon Lex's squeeze rejected Lionel's 1st offer to stab Lex in the back earlier in the episode, but after he confessed his part in the break in, she got so mad, she went for it.

Overall, I enjoyed this , it had some great moments and superb acting in it. A good episode, and a great season finale. (stomped all over Angel's from last week).

[b] She double crossed Lex and jumped out with everyone else
[c] She was drugged too and kidnapped from the flight
[d] General Zod kidnapped her
[e] Clark Kent's cousin (Supergirl) turns out, fancies a bit of girl-on-girl action and kidnaps Helen.

You'd think after all his parents have done & all the support they've given him he'd be a bit more honest with them.

Also:
If your gonna try & destroy the hugely powerful spaceship in your basment maybe it might be an idea to take it somewhere a bit more secluded. I mean they live on a farm surrounded by fields it couldn't have been that hard to move it a few 100m away from the house & road.

He might be super strong but the brains could do with a bit more exercise ;)

You're absolutely spot on about Clark being such a doofus. He may have a lot of superpowers, but "super-master-of-the obvious he isn't :lol: After all ,lookhow long it took him to tell Lana how he felt about her :brickwall

Although, to be fair to him, it was very out of character for him to take such big step without consulting his parents. It was one of those plot points that didn't make a lot of sense, but was there to drive the story to the conclusion it reached , with him leaving.

Hence him trying to destroy the ship in the barn, so his mum would have the miscarriage which lead to him feeling guilty and leaving, setting up the beginning of the 3rd season.

Ditto, him putting on the Red K ring. Yes, you could see why he left, but it made no sense at all for him to put on the ring.
I mean he's leaving so he won't hurt anybody else with his actions, and then he exposes himself to Red K which he knows makes him more reckless, and more likely to hurt someone! :brickwall

It's an illogical, but interesting plot device to set up the 3rd season. After all, we all want see what happens next now don't we?, although the way the story arrived at this point made very little sense. So the writers have done their job.

Yeah the whole flying thing seems to have been pushed aside at the moment. There's been:

a) Clark dreaming of floating above Lana's bed.
b) Clark floating above his bed.
c) Clark mysteriosly waking up in strange place (miles away from home).
d) Clark 'jumping' from one skyscraper to another.

I thought he was gonna start flying after being blasted by light in the caves. Guess they're saving it for the 3rd season.
