Anyone know when the series with the guy who played Zach Morris in Saved by the Bell is gonna be on Channel 4?! :)

NYPD Blue new season starts in April as stated in What's on tv mag Mailbag questions
April??!!!!:oh-hum:
Am I correct in thinking that that's 7 months away? Hardly cause for celebration is it?
And by "new" I assume we're talking about the 2001-2002 season?
Whoop-de-doo. Nice one Channel 4.

The last series started in January this year so it's look's like we are going to fall even further behind.:cuckoo:
April! Jesus!. Why can't they just stick double bills on Sunday morning at 0230 or something? By no means ideal but at least then we can all tape them and get to see them.
Waiting till April for the next series is a joke.  :cuckoo:

Media Bullit are reporting tonight that the new Ch4 channel aimed at the over 30's is to go ahead. Unforunately "More4" is not due for at least a year.
Here's hoping that NYPD Blue get's a regular spot on it.

in case anyone doesn't know, Season 9 is finally starting on C4 tomorrow night (http://www.channel4.com/listings/C4/index.jsp?offset=1&position=1&startHour=23) at midnight! woo-hoo!!
NYPD Blue
[subtitles]
Lie Like a Rug (part 1)
A brand new series of the US police drama. Stress levels are running high at the precinct following the events of September 11th and Sorenson's disappearance, and Sipowicz is asked to investigate the gruesome murder of four young girls.
Maybe it was absence making the heart grow fonder, but I thought series 8 was marvellous and rumours of this mighty series' demise proved very much unfounded. Get that video set. Time to start laying into them skels, Andy. :)

oops, sorry guy. completely missed that thread while i was on holiday (in new york as it happens!). more worrying is that i somehow managed to go through 3 pages of search results before posting and yet still miss your thread! :D
i guess i was also just thinking that we'd keep this thread going. but whatever. at least all you people have vcrs or sky+. my vcr packed about 4 months ago so i guess i'll have to go out tonight and buy a new one!

How was Noo Yawk - I'm off there myself in May!

new york was superb, as always. third time i've been but not since june 1999. then it was incredibly hot, this time it was mercilessly cold. even by their standards - seasonal temperatures were at a ten-year low! didn't spoil it though, the only negative effect was not being allowed on the open top-deck of the sightseeing buses.
the GF hadn't been before, so i spent most of the time showing her around places i'd been before (empire state, central park, times square, 5th avenue, battery park, flatiron district etc.) but i managed to notch a few 'new' things as well: harlem, riverside drive, and the area around the east village and parts of little italy and chinatown that constitutes the 15th precinct on nypd blue. as we went past belle vue medical center i was telling the GF about how regularly it features on the show! and then of course we went to ground zero as well.
that was the thing that hit me the most. i'd been "there" twice before, but then i'd made it to the top of the south tower both times (despite my jelly-legs!). i just couldn't get my head around the fact that the twin towers aren't there any more. of course, i knew this would be the case but having been there before when they were standing it's almost like part of you was still expecting to see them when you arrived. and it wasn't just at ground zero, i was looking south at all the other points around manhattan from where i could previously remember being able to see the towers. their absence is palpable, partly due to the vast empty space but also because you 'see' them everywhere else in manhattan - models, posters, photos, even on the empire state 'skyride'. i really just couldn't believe they weren't there anymore! :(
having since been on a helicopter trip from las vegas to the grand canyon, i definitely recommend you take one of the 'liberty' helicopter trips around manhattan when you're there in may. i'm definitely doing that next time.

Can anyone please tell me if this is the series where the guy from Saved by the Bell joined the cast please?!

Andrew WK, the answer to your question:
yes. Mark-Paul Gosselaar joins the cast as Detective John Clark Jr. in tonight's episode, the first of season 9.

EDITED: I removed my post as i didn't realise i was giving away spoiler:ignore:
Thanks for pointing that out Ben Martin:wave:
IMDB is right i got the season year wrong:rolleyes:

i used spoiler tags because danny's fate is still undetermined at the point we're up to so far in the UK. i'd spoiler tag the above, or delete it actually as otherwise we'd have two identical posts.
one other thing:
the IMDb info is wrong then. Det. John Clark Jr. definitely does not appear in any episodes in any seasons prior to season 9.
EDIT: cheers Thornastor. easy mistake to make. it's gotten a bit confusing now that C4 have us a whole two and half seasons behind the states.

Thankfully I have a month off work so staying up tonight for the big return!! Cant wait   Just got myself a DVDrecorder last week too so i can now archive to DVD
Can someone bring me up-to-date? Purely by accident I saw an episode of NYPD last night (didn't know it had started again?) and I'm adrift on plot. I recall when it left off Danny was seeing a prostitute/stripper but can't remember more. What happened between then and his body being found 5 months later?

last season spoiler
Danny got involved through a case (?) with the stripper and the club she worked in. Danny was approached by the 'connected' owner of the club to do some computer checks. Speaks to the lt and gets the go ahead. The FBI get involved and we find that they have a undercover agent in the club.
The agent disappears, the stripper turns up dead in Danny's apartment and Danny disappears. Much gnashing of teeth from Andy and FBI 'intereference'. They don't find Danny.
What happens in the 5 months - 9/11 and presumably Andy looking for Danny and getting nowhere
Very good episode last night. I've just finished watching seasons 1 and 2. It was therefore weird coming up to date. I did think it was good to compare the quality and at least last night's ep was as good as anything in the first two seasons.

Glad it is back early than April! I was peeved off again as the digital feed has those flashing lines again and there was a few throught out lastnights episode. This also spoiled it for me when the double bill of ER with loads of lines:brickwall I am going to phone CH4. For those who archive dvdr episodes will probably have them on it.

I'm so glad I started watching this, the first two episodes have been as good as anything else I've seen on TV for a long time. Shame I was so young when it started, think I'll start getting the DVDs. And to think I only watched it to see Zach Morris from Saved By The Bell!
I've just read unconfirmed reports that next season (season 12) will be NYPD's last.
Missed last week's episode, despite Doll's bump (saw it, thought "ah yes, must set video, and then went to sleep :brickwall :brickwall :brickwall )
So, could anyone give me a brief synopsis of what I missed?
Cheers,
Paul

I only started watching it this series so I'm not an expert but here goes:
Clarke Jnr joined the team, Clarke Snr visited and seemed to upset everyone - especially Sipowicz, which made relations between Jnr and Sipowicz pretty bad. Snr then almost blew the case that Jnr and Sipowicz were working on by interfering, but thanks to some great interviewing by Jnr the case was saved. The whole team then went for a drink to toast Danny and Sipowicz seemed to be cooling towards Jnr, then Snr turned up and demanded Jnr came home with him, Jnr refused and it all got heated and ended with Snr calling Sipowicz a drunk. As a result it appears that Jnr is about as welcome as a fart in a lift!
Hope that helps!

Clarke .......
We also found out why Clarke Snr gets called Dutchboy by Sipowicz. As a patrol officer Clarke Snr called for back up entered a dark hardware store goes down to the basement and shoots a guy in the dark holding a gun. When the lights went on they discover that he's shot a plaster figure holding a paint brush advertising Dutch brand paint. Sipowicz also kept mentioning that Clarke Snr was a bad detective but no more detail was given. I suspect the real feeling for the animosity will come out over the weeks.
Good to Joe Spano again (RELEASE HILL STREET BLUES ON DVD NOW!)
Shaping up to be a good series.
Gutted about the series ending but I wonder what they'll do with Sipowicz at the end.
Half of me would just like to see it continue as if we'd been watching a doc and it just ended but the other half would like to see them go out with a bang.
I know what you mean. One ending would be to see Sipowicz sat in his flat with Theo looking out over the New York skyline but it would also be great to have a real ballsy ending and have him go out in a hail of bullets - a last heroic act. Will be sad either way.
Been reading some spoilers and it looks like this season see sipowicz get together with Connie. :notworthy
