These speakers sound very, very good for the price whether for movies or music.

The fronts and centre speakers are better than the rears tho', but for under £100 they take some beating. They look quite good too........

Cheers, Brock.

Well, I gave in this afternoon and bought them. After getting them brought home for me (didn't fit in my MG  ) I've tried them out for normal stereo TV sound and they sound great for the money. I'll give them a proper surround check tomorrow :)

it was quite funny a few weeks ago, on the label for these in currys, it says they come with a subwoofer, now looking at them and the manual next to them it was obvious it didnt, but I asked anyway(i was bored, waiting for cinema to start!), they got 6 members of staff looking for the subwoofer(or the woofer as they like to called it!) for these speaker sets, i did try and tell them the label could be wrong, but they wouldnt listen, and insisted saying there was a subwoofer with them!

edit-before anyone says 'but theres woofer include in the description', the label read something lalong lines of -'subwoofer included', or 'seperate subwoofer included'

It's something like 'subwoofer' speaker included - it's simply the biggest 2 cones in each of the front speakers :p

A pic you say?

edit - that's a 28" JVC Widescreen TV for size comparisons. I'll go get a photo of the rears now.

Rears:

The 'big' speaker on the rears is round about the size of a CD (a CD covers all the black)

Thanks steve! ive been looking for a set of speakers for a while now and these match the spec ive been looking at for around £250 and they are nice, so i think ill invest in a pair this weekend!!

I assume theyr all magnetically sheilded to be sitting so close?

Well, they're kind of sheilded - the me explain:

The Centre one is, as long as I move it away from the front edge of the TV and put it more in the middle of the top of the TV (I will be putting this under the TV when I get a new cabinet anyway as it makes the picture wobble when it's turned up load  )

The two main fronts seem to be as well, as long as you have them at the right angle - twist them a few degrees the wrong way and the picture gets messed up.

I've never had proper speaker sets before - I'm comparing to a PC-based 5.1 micro sets and also the mish-mash setup I had before of half a technics hifi's speakers and half small Eltax speakers, but yeah, they sound pretty good, and it makes the house shake even without a sub :)

Well ill probably go for a set then, they sound good for the price! at the moment ive got two AV amps and no speakers, when i got burgleg i blew all the insurance money on other stuff, so i got to buy two sets now :(

Thanks for the help.

wel just buy one to start with and see if you like them! You could probably always take them back anyway with some lame excuse and they'll refund you.

Glad to hear these are good, had a look at them yesterday, rather impressed at what can be obtained for less than £100

My only concern was that they felt kinda lightweight, but build quality is excellent. If they sound good, then wayhey, result!:D

I've been using the very gorge Silverados for about a year. I need something "bigger" for my large living room, the Jupiters caught my eye. Also wanted to get rid of the crappy sub I have :oh-hum:

I got my set today! and im well chuffed with them, they sound great with both music and films, i had a budget of £300 and im glad the best set i found where less than a hundred sheets!! i do agree they are light feeling but build quaility is impressive and on a par with what could be called better speakers

I have the £130 ones from asda, which look (and probably are) VERY similar.

For £130 they are decent enough. Add a sub and they sound great.

Maybe not audiophile but at that price they have decent sound and bass

Im taking mine back in the morning! it quite clearly says in there instructions there magnetically shielded which theyr not, it could be i have a dodgy centre speaker, because it has no shielding what so ever:( if i where you steve id have a second look to make sure, theyr may be no obvious damage to your telly but over time it could do permanent damage.

I did notice that - I had to move it backwards on the top of the TV a few inches though otherwise it affected the TV.

That description on currys' site is useless - sounds more like an amp!
